POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Grace is not for perfect people. It is for the broken, the messy, the still-healing, and the ones who don’t have it all figured out. . .

That’s the beauty of grace; it meets us exactly where we are, but loves us too deeply to leave us there.

Have you watched our latest episode with a Christian counsellor yet?

We’re unpacking mother wounds, father wounds, childhood pain, and the parts of our story that may still be shaping us today; even when we think we’ve moved on.

Healing isn’t about blaming our parents. It’s about becoming aware of what still hurts, allowing God into those places, and learning healthier ways of relating to ourselves and others.

This conversation is honest, vulnerable, faith-filled, and so necessary. 🥹

YOUR CHILDHOOD STILL HURTS.

You grew up; but did the wounds grow up with you?

Sometimes the rejection, abandonment, criticism, emotional absence or instability we experienced as children quietly follows us into adulthood; shaping how we love, how we trust, how we see ourselves, and sometimes even how we relate to God.

In this episode of Messy Faith, Real Grace, we sit down with a Christian counsellor for an honest conversation about mother wounds, father wounds, childhood pain, forgiveness, boundaries, faith and the importance of counselling.

Because loving Jesus doesn’t mean there aren’t places in your heart that still need healing.

I have been really enjoying the work the Lord has been leading us to do this season. Social based therapy 🌻After we heal we still need to learn how to relate each other in a godly way. Often people who have experienced rejection and abandonment struggle. We self isolate or jump from one relationship to another to self protect. The Lord said create space , learn and grow together. That is the beauty of the Body of Christ. Patient and Kind LOVE ❤️

“And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/114/gen.2.2-3.NKJV

Genesis 2:2-3 was our anchor scripture , as his children it’s very important to hold on to the rhythms he set for us ✨🤍 we also touched on the importance of worship and beholding him. This should not be driven by answered prayers, we worship him because he is sovereign, he is our God and creator.
We also spent lengthy time discussing the richness of Psalm 23, how sheep 🐑 sometimes wonder so aimlessly, thank God for a good shepherd like Jesus who leads us to still waters. His rest and peace are not as the world knows, it’s not just idleness but rather allowing him to restore our souls. Silence our anxieties, his banner over us remains his ❤️ LOVE

I must say that we met the Lord of Sabbath
When most of us arrived there was a sense of tiredness. The Lord didn’t meet us through signs and wonders, but through rest, play, fun, sleep, and joy. He restored our souls through stillness. He pulled us away to remind us we are not of the world, in Genesis 2 says he blessed and sanctified the day of rest. This was so different yet so special to us. He sealed our hearts with Songs of Solomon 7, reminding us his banner over us is love. ❤️❤️❤️Rest is still mandatory for our anxious souls, it is a God given gift

Faith Conversations

Are you the first GENERATION CHRISTIAN in your family?

My maternal grandmother was, and she faithfully prayed for her husband, children, and grandchildren to receive Christ as their Lord and Saviour. My grandfather received Jesus a few weeks before he passed away. My mom and her siblings followed. Then, we, the grandchildren, followed.

One of the things that she consistently prayed for was that someone in her lineage should serve as a PASTOR. She really wanted someone to be in full-time ministry. I have the privilege and honour of being married to a PASTOR.

She went home to be with Jesus in November 2015. Joseph and I were leading Gateway City Church, Alexandra Township, and she got to see and experience her prayer request.

What are you trusting God for in your lineage? Start praying now! There is power in PRAYER.

Do you also have a testimony of a grandmother and / or mother praying for your SALVATION? Let me know in our comments section below.
