Here we have the 2014-15 third shirt.

This one harks back to the all-white shirt as worn by the League Cup Winners of 1967 🤍🏆

Thankfully this one didn’t need the dreaded panel on the back for a name or number set, unlike the home and away! 😂

As for the shirt, personally I think this was the best of the lot we got from our short time with Nike; simple, clean, classic.

It reminds me of two particular goals that season; the first was Charlie Austin’s sublime backheel vs. that lot at their place in the November, to make it 1-1 👌🏻

The second goal this shirt reminds me of is Matty Phillips’ rocket vs. Crystal Palace, from about all of 40 yards out! 🚀

With Matt Phillips officially hanging up his boots, it’s only right to look back at where he truly made his name: Bloomfield Road.

Signed as a raw 19-year-old from Wycombe Wanderers for just £325k back in 2010, Phillips didn’t take long to explode onto the scene. He stepped straight into Ian Holloway’s famous, fearless Premier League side and scored on his debut in front of the north stand against Blackburn Rovers.

Whether he was tearing down either wing or filling in at right-back, his power, pace, and sheer versatility made him an absolute nightmare for defenders. He was a massive part of that unforgettable run to the 2012 Play-Off Final at Wembley, earning himself a spot in the PFA Championship Team of the Year that season.

102 appearances in Tangerine, 17 goals, and endless memories on the Fylde coast before moving on to QPR.

An incredible servant to the game. Happy retirement, Matt! 🍊
