All community is not the same! cc: @phillyconnecthtx I really wish we put more emphasis on who we choose to do life with.

One thing I’ve come to realize is that being surrounded by people and being truly known by people are two very different things.

Redemptive relationships don’t just accept who you are, they participate in who you’re becoming. But that also requires something of us, you can’t experience the intimacy of being known while maintaining complete control over how you’re perceived.

Sometimes the depth of community you’re looking for requires a level of vulnerability you have to be willing to give.

Most people don’t know this but I met Marvy thru a mutual friend by the name of @caringabrielle at her Bible study and Christian platform @phillyconnecthtx (which yall should definitely check out) so I already knew the spirit of Holy Spirit had brought her to me and our family. 🙏🏽

When I tell y’all Queen Marvy is such an AMAZING soul, she is just THAT! You will forever be a Houston Native Cajun Creole Queen in our books!👑

Sometimes confronting yourself hurts more than what happened to you… that’s growth.

It takes two is often times true, but you can only control one. One of the best ways I’ve been able to grow is by looking at myself first.

The truth about community…

11 years of building and leading community, I’ve learned a lot about people, relationships, leadership and of course myself.

Last month at @phillyconnecthtx, we had a much needed and refreshing Bible study on “Redemptive Community”. So much of what we discussed applies to how we show up for one another, in community, relationships/friendships and everyday life.

Finally putting into words this special night at our annual PC Gala!

Was not expecting to receive the PC Pillar award. It was such an honor and can’t say how grateful I am for this community and opportunity to serve this ministry!

Earlier that morning the Lord told me it’s time to recognize you belong. No longer will you be just grateful to be in the room, you belong in the room. He reminded me how much He loves & sees me. I even told Him I never win anything. I’m just grateful for the Lord’s encouragement and knowing what I need that exact day!

This night was so special celebrating with so many friends a beautiful milestone within this community!

This one means a lot... @phillyconnecthtx was recognized by the City of Houston for more than a decade of serving young adults, strengthening community and helping people grow in their faith and purpose.

What started with a small group of people choosing to show up has become part of the story of this city.

Thank you City Controller @cghollins and the Office of the City Controller @houcontroller for recognizing the work and celebrating this milestone with us.

Grateful for everyone who has been part of the story, and for everyone helping write what comes next 💪🏽🙏🏽
