Today was Phoebe’s last game with Palm Beach Gardens Predators Soccer She has been playing for PBG since she was 4 years old and has been on the same travel team since 2nd grade
Parents of travel soccer, baseball lacrosse, golf, volleyball, dance, cheer….any travel sport…..you know this feeling!
I cried a lot today. Roy might’ve cried, but he was wearing sunglasses and won’t admit it
I’ve enjoyed every moment and I already miss it. I’ll even miss those days when we would drive 2 hours for a game that would be canceled because of weather, which we all knew was coming
The delayed flights or flight changes bc of game time changes ….
Parents if you’re in the middle of it now with younger kids, just enjoy those days too because it will be over in a flash
I would take one of the worst travel days all over again in a heartbeat
It just means extra time with your kids in the car or at the airport

I’ll miss that horrible smell when the girls would pile into my car after a game, the stinky cleats, Phoebe’s stinky goalie gloves (there are no words) the grass and dirt and crumbs from snacks all over my car at the end of the day
We went from playing Disney movies on the DVD player in the car, to rap music, back to 70s and 80s and of course lots of TikTok
I’ll miss having 6 or 7 (yes, I DID write 6/7!!!) girls in the car, blasting their music and singing their hearts out
Most of all, I’ll miss watching the games. Watching Phoebe and her teammates doing what they love.

When you have a child who finds a passion, to watch them work hard and excel at it, and to love it and witness their sense of pride, it is one of the greatest joys of parenthood

The soccer fields have been her refuge, the coaches have been her friends and mentors, the soccer girls have been her second family

I am so grateful for all of it
I will miss everything about it

And now a new journey begins. Georgia, here we come!
Thank you, Gardens Predators Soccer
Let’s GO DAWGS!!!

Phoebe, Dad and I are so incredibly proud of you. You are proof that hard work pays off. We are SO excited to see where this next chapter takes you! As any parent knows, it takes a village. Thank you to everyone who has helped Phoebe along the way. Palm Beach Gardens Predators Coaches, Fellow Soccer Moms and Dads…. the OGs and the new families!! There is nothing like the soccer mom bond. And thank you to our family and friends who have been there to cheer Phoebe on !
Again… huge Congrats to Phoebe, who can never train enough, work enough, who schedules her own training, and wants to play any opportunity she can. We have loved every single moment and will continue to every minute for the next to two years until you are off to become a DAWG!!! And don’t worry, dad and I will be looking for a house in Athens GA! Just kidding! 😜. Sort of. 🤪.
