had an amazing beginner class of HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) from @phoenixguildstudio . What a great experience. 10/10 would want to get bruised again.

2nd slide: controlled spar with longsword, and the last slide controlled spar with sabre.

They say comfort zone is the killer of growth, and I gotta be honest that’s what I felt during the last tournament.

So here it is; week one with shorter sword and a promise (that I may or may not fulfill) to avoid using hand or shin snipe. The goal is simple: to fix my commitment issue (in attacking my opponent).

(I can see at least three homeworks from this spar alone)

Huge congratulations to our Padawan Class: Batch 4! ⚔️✨

From learning the fundamentals to stepping into character and bringing a lightsaber choreography to life, you’ve come a long way.

What started as learning how to move a blade became a lesson in confidence, storytelling, and trusting your fellow performers (and the Force).

You showed up, put in the work, and when it was time to perform, you delivered.

The journey of a Padawan may be complete, but this is only the beginning.

Proud of you all. Keep training, keep creating, and keep telling stories through the blade.

Maybe instead of one photo per post I'll do this instead. Reels photodump 📸

Verdadera Destreza techniques in the books were usually described under the assumption that the fighters involved are of similar build, dimensions and proportions. In real life this is rarely the case, and that is a big part of the fun: figuring out how to capitalise on your advantage and compensate for your limitation.
