This weekend I was busy making my dreams a reality! ✨ As a horror movie fan and lover of the arts, I had to jump at the opportunity to write for Harlem’s in Living Color’s Halloween Show. What better subject to write about than zombies! 🧟‍♀️🧟 “Zombies Anonymous” is a skit centered around zombies and their translators trying to coexist in a world where zombies have always been the enemy. They all attend a meeting facilitated by the quirky and erratic Rosemary Beth. Most of the sessions is her trying to keep the peace between the zombies and their translators, which doesn’t bode well for her. The zombies just want to overcome their addiction to consuming brains and the translators…they just need to work. I got to wear a couple of hats 🧢 this run of our show. Actress 🎭 Writer 📝 Director 🎬 Makeup Artist 💄🫟 with the help of my cast mates, of course! Not to make this too long, I just want to thank everyone involved! Thank you to @kungfujoe83 for all your feedback and support and giving me the opportunity to showcase my work. Thank you to my talented cast (they are tagged) for giving my script life and just being so amazing and patient with me throughout the process! Also a big thank you to @harlemarthousecollective for opening up your space to us and your immense contribution. Love you all and I wish you even more success in your future endeavors! 🙏🏽✨💕

Thunny Brown aka Simple Simple Simon and my talented Co Star Pholosify B aka Kalek represented stars of stage and screen from a by gone Era and current day highlighting some of the similarities and differences of each. It's "SHOWTIME!" This past weekend I had the honor and pleasure of portraying a critical historic comedic figure from our past. Whites originally used burnt cork to paint their faces Black with large over exaggerated red lips to make fun of and perpetuate many of the racist stereotypes we know today of African Americans and Dark skinned Indigenous Tribes. Just like with all things we took the practice made it our own and did it better than they ever could have imagined. Much the same way it happens today in sports and music, one of the reasons many of the 1 %'s hate us with a passion to this day. When you know better you do better. In this hateful and hurtful Amerikkka that hates us and taught us to hate us, even that comes at a price which more times than not is your Life. Each one teach one. Power to the People.
