Today was my last day on air in Central Texas. Thank you, Austin. You’ve shaped me, challenged me, and prepared me for the next chapter.

Mental health and its severity are often overlooked. I have personally battled mental illness and suicidal thoughts for over a decade. It’s an ugly disease that fears no evil and offers no grace. It’s so important to check in with the ones you love and to be vocal about your feelings. There’s so much power in speaking your truth and knowing you’re not alone. Although it’s still an uphill fight, I am grateful to continue this journey —I had no idea my life could be as beautiful as it is today.

I have always dreamed of one day giving back to The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention- I had no idea what that would look like or entail until I met my good friend, Alex (@mndgrn__ ). In March of 2024, in celebration of my two year tattoo anniversary, I had the privilege of co-hosting a Charity Art Event with @mndgrn__ . We raised $2,300 for AFSP, and I couldn’t be more honored.

On that note, I’m thrilled to share that Alex and I are back for MK Charity Art Event Round 2! We are hosting our event on August 9th at @dottiewoodstudios from 7 PM to 10 PM. I want to give a huge thank you again to all the vendors and attendees who made last year possible. We couldn’t have done it without you! 🤍🤍🤍

ONE YEAR AT @cbsaustin! 📺

A year ago, I started as an MMJ and covered the morning shift— today, I’m a nightside reporter and fill-in anchor! I’ve grown so much personally and professionally this year, and owe much of that to my newsroom.

Every week, I’m fulfilled by producing meaningful work and telling the stories that matter in my community! This job has been, and always will be— my dream come true!
