To be able to push your mind and body through exercise, and to learn from that self-imposed adversity, is a true gift.

Anything can be hard. Running is hard. Not being able to run is hard. Lifting is hard. Not being able to lift is hard. Rehab is hard. Not doing it and staying unable to do what you love is hard. Being in shape is hard. Not being in shape is hard. The list goes on. But having the ability to choose something hard is a gift.

After a hip injury kept me from running hard for about 18 months, I’m healthy and back on the track. Now, when it hurts, I remind myself that I GET to do this. I don’t HAVE to. Being able to choose the pain and growth of training again feels that much sweeter.

As @ablocksupply reminded me on the inside of this hat, “Your everyday struggles are someone else’s dream.” It might sound cheesy, but if you’ve ever been unable to train without pain, you know exactly what it means. The thing that once felt like a struggle becomes the thing you’re working to get back to.

Health is easy to take for granted until it limits you, which is something we try to remind our @whealth members. Many join our programs to overcome injuries and limitations of their own, and we always say to “choose your hard” and learn from the gift of pain.

Coming back gave me the chance to relearn that message for myself, and I’m truly grateful for it.

I found @nntrackclub in January, just as I was getting healthy again and rebuilding confidence in my body. I was intimidated to start testing myself, but after turning 30 this past week, I feel stronger than ever. It was a gift to celebrate with the crew through a tough training session.

For the rest of the year, the goal remains the same: stay slower than the runners, weaker than the lifters, and have fun doing it.
Remember, you always have the power to change your perspective.

Get to, not have to.
Choose your hard.
Pain is a gift.

For every version of me that wanted to give up, this is for you🎓🤍 I moved my life to a new city without knowing what or how I was going to do it. & now being in this moment of earning my masters degree is such an amazing feeling. There were a lot of tears, doubt, loss, grief but there was also joy, resilience & passion. I’m always going to be authentically & unapologetically me. This chingona from LA, to the IE to now SD mastered it. This journey has made me into who I am today & I also wouldn’t be who I am today without the people who have supported me through it all. I love y’all. If you needed a sign, take this as your sign to the risk, live life, love hard & stay true to who you are.🎓🇲🇽✨ #explorepage #masteredit #firstgenlatina #graduation #classof2026🎓
