Our debates don’t just “happen.” They are the result of a well-trained, in-house Debate Team that carefully organizes every detail. From reviewing candidate endorsement forms and crafting substantive questions, to holding Zoom strategy sessions and developing scoring metrics—our team does the work.

On debate night, one of them moderates. Immediately afterward, our Endorsement Committee meets over dinner 🍽️ to begin deliberations. Sometimes a decision is rendered that same evening; other times, as with our recent Gubernatorial Debate, further deliberation is required.

These brilliant Black men are working professionals—medical doctors, attorneys, CFOs, business owners, and executives—who consistently give their time and talent to our PAC as we continue writing our young and evolving story.

A major shoutout to @phoxtography1 for her extraordinary debate photography—especially her powerful capture of our Debate Team at work in the “Green Room” prior to the debate and the "recap" vid that she created at the beginning of this reel💪🏾🇺🇲

This week marked the official inauguration of Atlanta’s municipal leadership — a moment of responsibility, reflection, and renewed commitment to the people we serve.

Being sworn in as City Council President is not about ceremony, but about service. It is about ensuring that City Hall is accessible, transparent, and responsive to the lives of everyday Atlantans. Too many voices have gone unheard for too long, and my focus remains clear: bringing the work of government closer to the people it impacts.

In the months ahead, I will continue creating spaces for residents across our city to engage directly with leadership, ask questions, share concerns, and help shape decisions — regardless of whether they can attend meetings downtown. Participation should never be limited by distance, schedule, or circumstance.

Atlanta’s strength has always come from its people — from our neighborhoods, our history, and our shared belief that progress is possible when we listen and act together. I am grateful for the trust placed in me and fully committed to honoring it with integrity, collaboration, and action.

The work continues — and I’m ready to lead it alongside you.
