My favourite hotel bars in Bangkok

Bangkok has no shortage of sexy bars, but getting me through the door is one thing. Getting me to come back again and again? That takes chemistry.

For me, a bar worth having a long-term affair with needs three things: delish cocktails, consistently personable service and an ambience that makes you want to stay for “just one more.” Brownie points for yummy bar bites and a concept with personality.

And whether it’s on Asia’s or the World’s 50 Best list? Nice bragging rights, but rankings don’t make me fall in love. People do.

So here are my Top 6 Bangkok hotel bars that I keep crawling back to.

Firefly, Sindhorn Kempinski

Cocktails, live music and a head bartender who sings — Dicky is practically a triple threat. He and his team make every visit dangerously fun. The bigger problem? Choosing a favourite cocktail because everything on that menu tempts me.

Caleō, The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok

My choice for a quieter, more intimate night. K Sam and his talented teammates shake impeccable drinks while making you feel completely at home. Don’t miss the Gimlet Flight — three mini gimlets, because apparently one is never enough.

P/s Those Buffalo Wings are gorgeous!

Meet Samui — a cocktail imagined by Pooh at Sundry Bar.
He found inspiration in karamae — a beloved Southern Thai dessert from Koh Samui, known for its deep caramel and toasted sesame notes.
At Sundry Bar you’ll find a distinctive venue: tucked inside an orange‑toned building opposite Lumphini Park, with high‑fidelity DJ tunes, layered floors of gallery, lounge and bar spaces, and a modern take on craft cocktails.

Made with Chalong Bay rum, palm sugar, pandan, toasted white sesame, coconut juice and caramel, Samui channels Southern Thai dessert tradition into a crafted serve.

Only at one place.

What a wild night to remember! ✨ Massive thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate Sundry’s 2nd anniversary (and of course, Shaun’s birthday bash). You brought the fire, the laughter, and all the chaos we live for.

🍸 Here’s to our Sunnies, our crew, and two years of unforgettable nights. You’re the heart (and the heat) that keeps Sundry alive.❤️‍🔥

For when you need a sip of clarity... or closure.

Good boys are boring — no games, no chaos.
But then came him.
Mentally exhausting, emotionally unavailable, dangerously exciting.
You traded peace for passion.
And just like that… you fell.
𝙁𝙤𝙧 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩? 𝘼 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙚? 𝘼 𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜? 𝘼 𝙛𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙨𝙮?

Thai Boyfriend is your bittersweet reminder.
A twist on the classic Rob Roy — whiskey-based, spirit-forward, once seen as a “man’s drink” — now reimagined with a local touch.
Cincao leaf brings a mellow bitterness, just like the relationship.
Soft, deep, and just a little haunting.

We’re here if you need someone to talk to.
Or just another round.
