So...I recently found out that I have Squamous Cell Carcinoma of Rectum, stage 2B, and I am going to be 100% cured after treatment. Thank goodness I got the colonoscopy in late October and this was caught before it got further into my lymph nodes, otherwise things would be so much worse. GET A COLONOSCOPY-DO NOT WAIT!

I will be starting 6 weeks of radiation with 2 weeks of concurrent chemotherapy after Thanksgiving, and I will be out of commission for a total of about 8 weeks during December and January, possibly into the first part of February.

Luckily, I already had these 3 shows scheduled before this happened, so I am hoping that between my estate sale job and these events, I *might* be able to get by ok financially. So, I would greatly appreciate anyone coming by these events and picking up a little vintage sumthin sumthin from me for the holidays! Every little bit helps! 😊

Here's where I'm at right now.
Port will be put in this coming Tuesday, plus I will meet the radiation doctor that afternoon.
MRI on November 26th so the radiation doctor can better pinpoint where the radiation will go.
My oncologist actually called me yesterday, personally, to answer my zillion questions and reassure me that this cancer WILL be cured. That really impressed me. I like him. He is Dr. David Paul at MD Anderson.

Apparently there is a social worker at Banner who will be able to help me figure out the rides to the 5 days a week radiation treatment once it starts.

This part is hard for me to talk about, but a very wonderful friend of mine is putting together a centralized link on The Giving Kind for those of you who have offered to help while I am in treatment and recovery. That will be posted later. I am learning to be ok with asking for help. It's really hard!

More updates as they happen.

Now go get that colonoscopy scheduled!!!!!!

I have a wonderful Guardian Angel @mariafmcdonald who started a page for me at Give In Kind @giveinkind for anyone who would like to follow along on this cancer experience I am going through. The link is in my Bio. I got the port put into me today, and still have to get a CT scan and an MRI. I met the radiation doctor today, and she says we'll start treatment the second week of December. Six weeks of radiation and 2 weeks of chemo. The prognosis is still excellent, thank goodness! 😊 I just have to get through treatment, so as hard as it is to ask for and accept help, the Give In Kind page is the place to do it. As I get further into treatment, I will know better what I will need and will let you know through there.

One awesome way to help me right now is to come see me at one of my events I have coming up, and pick up some great vintage! This is my great passion, hooking up vintage with good homes, so come see what goodies I have for you! Even if you just come by to say hello, that is just as valuable to me! The kindness and caring everyone has shown me has been immeasurably helpful in helping me start this process. I will NEVER forget that. ❤️
