Phyllis Ewen’s 3D drawings invite viewers to imagine themselves within the seascape above and below the surface of the water. The dimensional qualities of the images invite us to inhabit the seas as another way of understanding the threats to our Oceans - warming waters, rising sea levels, collapsing ecosystems - all the direct result of anthropogenic impacts. The beauty of the work belies its serious and urgent message…

On view a week from today.
Opening reception Friday February 3rd, 5-8pm

Today I visited the Broad Institute in Cambridge and saw Liz Awalt’s inspiring show which included many artists from the Outer Cape as well as many other wonderful artists from as far away as Brazil. The exhibition entitled “MarkingLives COVID-19” brings Liz’s year and a half project to life. I’m posting just a few artist’s contributions here. There are so many other wonderful ones, each containing more than 1000 marks to honor 1000 people who have died of the virus.
