I grew up in a home where this Amazing and Beautiful Woman’s music played all day. It’s no secret to many who know me how much I would love to play her life story. So I am going to put it out there so that GOD can make this happen. 🙏🏾🥰

Phyllis Linda Hyman(July 6, 1949 – June 30, 1995) was an American singer, songwriter, and actress. Hyman’s music career spanned the late 1970s through the early 1990s.

Some of her most notable songs are “You Know How to Love Me” (1979), “Living All Alone” (1986) and “Don’t Wanna Change the World” (1991).[4] Hyman is also known for her covers of popular songs, which include renditions of “Betcha by Golly, Wow”, “Here’s That Rainy Day”, and “What You Won’t Do For Love”.

Hyman performed on Broadway in the 1981 musical revue Sophisticated Ladies, which ran from 1981 until 1983. The revue, based on the music of Duke Ellington, earned Hyman a Theatre World Awardand a Tony Awardnomination for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical.
After an extended struggle with mental health issues, Hyman died by suicide in 1995, aged 45, at her New York City apartment.

Going into my #HouseInThePark @hitpatlanta, Labor Day weekend like Kermit the Frog. It's been a really busy, really emotional, really restorative, really productive week and now it's time to *relax and celebrate* "the last weekend of summer!" (I know it's not y'all.) 😏 Anyhoo, if you're going out in Atlanta this weekend, I'd avoid I-75/85 North and South like the plague. I-20 too. This is where you learn your city. I been here since 1979 and I'm still learning some new ways to navigate the surface streets! TAKE MORE TIME TO TRAVEL, THEN TAKE YOUR TIME! BE SAFE!

Oh! Wait a minute! Is that last image from @phyllishyman's #OuiMagazine photo shoot in June 1982??? It sure is, Kimberly! 😊 (Thank you @unclassiflyable!) I didn't think I could love Ms. Hyman more than I already did. Goodness, was I wrong! These pictures get me even more pumped for #TheReclamationProject @reclamationartshow! 👀✨👀 MARK THEM CALENDARS FOR 10/23 AND GOVERN YOURSELF ACCORDINGLY! 🖤😊🖤😊🖤😊
