Messeschlager Gisela - Vorstellung in Cottbus! @staatstheatercottbus

Das war wieder sehr schön! 🎉💃🏽

Danke! ✨

Welcome to the Kit Kat Klub. 🖤✨

A week ago, I was getting married, and just two days later, I had the premiere of Cabaret. A show I deeply love for the powerful message it carries. A timeless musical, immortalised by the one and only Liza Minnelli, that is now more than 50 years old.

The apathy of then and now.

Throughout history, human beings have continued to repeat the same mistakes, often leading to devastating consequences, whether in the short or long term.

The musical numbers in Cabaret are directly connected to what was happening politically and socially at the time, ironically highlighting the chaos and social degradation unfolding around people while they were too busy distracting themselves in nightclubs to truly pay attention.

Today, issues such as climate change, racism and ethnic cleansing have once again come to the forefront, and we are often confronted with the fear that perhaps it is already too late to turn back. The apathy shown by the people of Berlin back then echoes the indifference of modern times—an indifference that has helped lead the world into a frightening and uncertain era.

And that is exactly why you absolutely have to come and see our Cabaret.

A new direction, new choreography, a new design—and a story whose message feels as relevant as ever.

Don’t miss it! 🌟
