The Void - one of my favorite few shots :)

This Sunday we’re going back to the roots! You can come and see ‘The Void’ (and ‘Oh My’) at @goshort in Arnhem :)

Can’t make it to Arnhem? Then you can also join me to watch it in New York or Lisbon!! Haha :)
🇺🇸 15th of November in New York during @yofifest
🇵🇹 Between 23rd - 28th of November in Lisbon as part of the @inshadow.festival

And if you’re in the Netherlands and rather watch it from the comfort of your own home then you can now see it on @piclfilm in the short film program ‘Alleen maar toch samen’, so plenty of options!

We tippen vanaf nu maandelijks zes films.

For this year’s edition, ROOTS Film Festival is honoured to partner with @piclfilm for an exciting new prize!

All five winners of ROOTS Film Festival 2026 will have their films available on demand through Picl for an entire year.

Picl is a streaming platform dedicated to arthouse films and documentaries, offering video on demand through a pay-per-view model. The platform works closely with cinemas across the Netherlands and Belgium, giving audiences the opportunity to discover and watch great films from home.

And that means the ROOTS winners won’t just gain more visibility and reach a new audience long after the festival is over: they’ll also receive a share of the revenue generated by their film on the platform.

Don’t want to miss out on this opportunity? You have until September 6th to submit your film via our website.

Mis What a Feeling niet.
