The charm of an alcove bed.

There’s something incredibly inviting about a bed tucked into its own little corner. Whether set into a wall or simply framed by a shallow recess, curtains or a canopy, an alcove bed makes the bedroom feel a little more private and a lot more intimate. Add old wood, soft bedding, warm lighting or a bit of wallpaper, and suddenly the bed feels less like furniture and more like its own little room — exactly the kind of space you’d want to disappear into.

The home of landscape architect @marcobay_ in Liguria blooms with objects and photos of the natural world. I especially love the framed grasses (photo 4).

I hope no one I’ve shared today minds. I am ever mindful of this day. 25 yrs ago the sky was brilliant as I made my way to the office running late. As the day unfolded I learned a woman I knew was the sister in law of a pilot on Flight 11. Others I knew of through friends and family where thankfully safe. Today’s grid is ♥️🤍💙 I didn’t plan it - it just happened.

More silly little beautiful things this week, which have scratched my overtired, overactive, undernourished brain. Natural shout out to the rain.

“ WALK. ALWAYS WALK. WALK WITH NO GOAL. NO DESTINATION.
NO TIMELINE. WALK WITH FRIENDS. WALK ALONE. WALK WITH MUSIC. WALK WITH SILENCE. WALK THE LONG WAY.
WALK WITHOUT YOUR PHONE.
WALK WHEN YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO NEXT. BECAUSE SOMEHOW, WALKING SHOWS YOU EXACTLY WHERE TO GO. “ - @andreacostantini @traces.editorial
