It’s a jungle out there and so many of us have developed a green thumb during this last year with positive (and some negative) results. A great reminder to keep on trying! Thanks to @picsbytis for this terrific shot and for sharing and tagging #igdc.

We are quickly approaching the 4th quarter of the year. Many of us have had trying events happen in our personal lives that are common place for the human experience, yet in the context of all that is happening in 2020 domestically and globally they hit differently.

Know that you are not alone in this world. There are people who care and will walk with you in your journey. Sometimes in the midst of our troubles, stress, sadness, we lose sight of our support system. We isolate and find ourselves siloed. That is one of the most unhealthy ways to respond to the events that occur in our lives.

It is so important to utilize your support system and let them know how you need to be cared for during this time in your life.

Intervention:
1. Reflect: take 30 minutes (or more if needed) and reflect on how you are feeling. What is your primary mood each day? What is your overall energy level? How is the quality of your sleep? Quality of productivity? (Notice, I said QUALITY not QUANTITY. More is not always better)

2. Consider: what do you need to help address your feelings? Mood? Energy? Sleep? Productivity?

3. Prioritize: which of these need immediate attention? Which of these if addressed would substantially improve your daily life right now?

4. List: all of the people important people in your life. Note why they are important and the role(s) they play in your life.

5. Assign: from this list, think about how each person could help you. "Assign" them an area.

6. Request love and care: have a conversation with the people you listed and ask for their assistance with the things you assigned them.

The list doesnt have to be long and it doesnt have to be exhaustive. Getting support in just a few areas will open up space for you to manage other areas that only you can address.

Dont be afraid to ask for love and care in the way that you need it.

Most importantly, never give up. There are people rooting for you; who want you to win. Tag them in and let them help you.
