In collaboration with @pictureberlin - @wirwirberlin hosted the Portland, OR based artist @tiafactor as our artist in residence.
In keeping with the PICTURE BERLIN format; Tia met with artists, a curator and did lots gallery and project space visits in addition to making her work.
.
Tia focused her work on the way memory of historical events are remembered, honored and integrated into the daily fabric of the city of Berlin.

Big thanks to @john.kleckner for generously sharing his work and time with @tiafactor during her residency @wirwirberlin earlier this week.
It’s very special to get a chance to dive deep into someone else’s practice. Thank you, John!

One of my favorite Berlin-based activities, the In Search of the Miraculous psycho-geographic walk / participatory artwork by @aprilgertler and @pictureberlin has helped me orient and ground in this massive and complex city on each visit here. This year I got lucky and was able to join a group visiting from Boise State University with their professor @chad.erpelding. As always, it was illuminating, full of surprises, tiring and totally worth it. Thanks for including me on the journey!

In collaboration with @pictureberlin we have been hosting the American artist @tiafactor @wirwirberlin as part of the “HIER@WIRWIR” program since the start of the month.
While in residence she finished RISO printing and binding FACTOR, FACTOR, FACTOR - a beautiful multigenerational zine she made with her son and father.
.
We are thrilled to be hosting her and supporting her explorations of Berlin!
