Thrilled that three of my drawings have been longlisted for the 2026 Almenara Art Prize. @almenaracollection The online exhibition is now live. (See the link in their bio) This international competition is based in Southern Spain and run by the Almenara Collection. This year’s edition drew entries from artists worldwide 🌎 across 10 categories including drawing. Proud to have made the cut among so many exceptional works. Swipe to the other pieces that are longlisted. Fingers crossed for the finalist and awards announcement coming September 15. 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀

Talk about a magical moment! ✨My friend and subject of my latest piece came to see herself today at the Festival of Arts. Just as Machiko stepped in to view her portrait a butterfly entered the booth and echoed the title of this piece “in the Presence of Grace”. Truly got chills then and even now thinking about it. This past March, Machiko invited my mom, me and two other neighbors to her home for tea to honor Girls Day “Hinamatsurii” a holiday in Japan to wish for girls health and happiness. She shared three different kinds of tea with us and in that moment I was completely inspired. Thank you Machiko! This piece was created with PanPastel and Generals Charcoal Pencil on Encausticbord. Beautifully framed by Chemers Gallery in Tustin and now available at the Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach. inquiries welcome

Good news on this Monday morning. 🍀🧑‍🎨🖤 My portrait drawing “In the Presence of Grace: Machiko Pouring Tea” has been selected for the inaugural American Artists Professional League’s Juried Open Online Exhibition. The show will be up on the @aapl_nyc website from July 31 - September 30, 2026. A big thank you to jurors: Barbara Hack, Chantal Sulkow, Karen Israel and Patricia Tribastone for selecting my work for this show. And to everyone at AAPL-NYC for all of your hard work to create opportunities for traditional realist artists.

🎨 Time to brush varnish on to my charcoal pencil and PanPastel drawing! (I have already sealed this with spray varnish and let each of those 8-10 light coats dry before doing this) watch til the end to see the secret pixie dust! 🧚🏻‍♀️✨ Created on Ampersand EncausticBord. This one is heading to the Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach soon! Stay tuned! 🧡🤗🍀⭐️

More than a rally. More than cars.

Sometimes the best part of the journey is stepping away from the cars and spending time with the people who make this community feel like home. The friendships are what keep us coming back. 🤝

FuelFest's inaugural Chicago debut gave a taste of our car community's passion for all things cars. Thankful for the opportunity to showcase Akira Nakai's rolling art through the RWB signature style of NOHRA. A shout-out to everyone that shared in this amazing inaugural experience together, we definitely have another story to add to our journey.

It’s Spray Day! 🫟 Using Lascaux Spray Varnish to seal my charcoal and PanPastel drawing. This is a newer process for me. I wanted a way to frame my drawings like a painting with no glass. The cost of museum glass is pricey. The feel of drawing on EncausticBord is different, but I’m loving the end result. For those wondering I spray at least 10 light coats and let them fully dry between each coat. I check the darkest part of the drawing with a tissue and if it comes off clean… it’s ready for the next step. Stay tuned for brushing a liquid varnish on this drawing for the final seal. 😮😮😮🫣🫣🫣
