Backdoor Curve Pitch explained 👇
**Backdoor** In pitching terminology, a “backdoor” pitch refers to a pitch that starts outside the strike zone and curves back over the plate, ideally catching the corner of the strike zone. For a left-handed pitcher, this means throwing the pitch to the outside part of the plate, often aimed at a right-handed batter.

When executed properly, a left-handed backdoor curveball can deceive the batter by appearing to be a ball outside the strike zone but then curving back in to catch the edge of the plate, making it difficult for the batter to hit. This pitch requires good control and spin to be effective

I have been working on this pitch for months and the hard work is paying off. I was able to consistently hit this pitch during last nights bullpen work 🥎

Thank you 💕 to @sarahpauly23 for all your guidance and motivation to help me reach my goals.
Also big thanks to @pierce.hayden21 for catching 🫶

After hitting yesterday I worked with @pierce.hayden21 in the cage. Worked on curves, screwballs, rise and drop balls to move the ball around the box. I also worked on my spin to help with my speed.

Great play by Canes Southwest (@thecanessw) catcher, (@pierce.hayden21) as he cuts a throw off at the @aggiebaseball 2024 Fall Exhibition and throws a laser to (@selvin.garrett) to get the runner at second base!
