‏He’s not sick, he’s not autistic, he’s not mentally disabled, he’s not handicapped, he’s all these things-altogether. He was only 23 years old when he left this world. Well i’m talking about someone who was and will always be family. Yes he was born with a disability. He couldn’t walk, talk or do anything. But he was full of emotions, a happy soul living among us. He was one of us and not one day went by that we treated him differently. The way his face always showed happiness, that smile that never left his face showed me how foolishly i acted towards life. I never appreciated the life i have, the strength that god gifted me with. I never used to think of life the way i am today.
My friends, stop thinking about things that don’t matter and start looking at the brighter side of life. Live life to the fullest and love yourself but whats more important is to learn to love the people who need your love the most. Learn to respect them, and the life they are living.
Disabled people? It’s time to erase the line that divides us and begin to coexist as one. Just give a little support, you don’t know when you will need it!
إنه ليس مريضاً، إنه ليس مصاب بالتوحد، إنه ليس مريضاً عقلياً، إنه ليس يعاني من إعاقة،إنه كل هذه الأشياء, كلها. كان عمره 23 عامًا فقط عندما غادر هذا العالم. حسنًا، أنا أتحدث عن شخص كان وسيظل دائمًا من الأسرة. نعم لقد ولد مع إعاقة. لم يستطع المشي أو التحدث أو فعل أي شيء. لكنه كان مليئًا بالعواطف والروح السعيدة التي تعيش بيننا. كان واحدًا منا ولم يمض يومًا ما في التعامل معه بطريقة مختلفة. في كل مرة اعتدت رؤيته، كان الأمل في الحياة ينبثق منه. الطريقة التي يطهر بها وجهه السعادة دائمًا، تلك الابتسامة التي لم تترك وجهه أبدت لي كيف تصرفت بحماقة تجاه الحياة. لم أكن أبدي تقديري للحياة، القوة التي وهبها الله لي. لم أكن معتادًا على التفكير في الحياة كما أنا اليوم.
أصدقائي، توقفوا عن التفكير في أشياء لا تهم, وابدأوا في النظر إلى الجانب الأكثر إشراقًا من الحياة. عش الحياة على أكمل وجه وأحب نفسك ولكن الأهم من ذلك هو أن تتعلم حب الناس الذين يحتاجون إلى حبك أكثر. تعلم كيف تحترمهم والحياة التي يعيشونها.
أشخاص ذوي الإحتياجات الخاصة؟ لقد حان الوقت لمحو الخط الذي يفصلنا ونبدأ في التعايش كخط واحد.
