These 2 will hit the warehouse in about a month!

Massimo has great touch. The Commune of Monforte d'Alba has the boldest tannins of all the Communes within Barolo. Tasting a couple of dozen Monforte's can be a grueling event with out food to quelch the crazy tannins. Yet, somehow, Massimo turns Nebbiolo from Monforte into plush elegant creatures. Things of true beauty!

Today we share his 2016 Ravera di Monforte and Mosconi!

I can't wait to get my laughing gear around these. They'll hit the warehouse early Septemeber for immediate shipping.

They've already sold out at wholesale, so this is it my friends!

Benevelli Pierro Langhe Nebbiolo, Piedmont, 2017
⠀
$32 13.5%
⠀
Always solid buying is this Benevelli Langhe neb. It scratches that itch of a sweet nebbiolo hit 🤤 without demanding those bitter nebbiolo bucks. It also doesn’t hide that beautifully wild tannin and perfume as some other Langhe nebs do.
⠀
👃🏼 Red cherry, kirsch, tar, dried cranberry, orange peel, something like oregano.
⠀
👅 Assertive powder tannins spread into an intense web of cherry, rose, strawberry, pomegranate, and black tea. There’s a pleasing sourness balancing that acidity and fresh red fruit. It’s quite a savoury wine, all said; all that bright fruit but it’s not sweet. This is a super wine for the money. It feels authentic, and true to grape, all the while feeling very Italian. You could stash some away too. You’d probably be very happy you did. Molto bene👌🏽 94/100

Oggi in Italia cominciano a riaprire i nostri amici e clienti ristoratori, e noi non vediamo l’ora di tornare a trovarli!
La quarantena però non ci ha colto impreparati, a casa abbiamo studiato molto! 😉🍷🍾

Today in Italy our friends and customers are starting to reopen their restaurant, and we can't wait to come back to find them! The quarantine, however, did not catch us unprepared, we studied a lot at home! 😉🍷🍾

Benevelli Barolo 2007
Great balanced structure, somewhere between medium and full bodied. A mouthful of dark cherry, liquorice and tar.
Delicious!
