Clara Borde de Castro for @lequipe Magazine. Interview by @clemence.dietz , photographed by @pieromarka . Thank you @abourln , @lemagazinelequipe @lequipe . Pictured: BOOTLEGACY WC26, a project made with Josh @astorelike94 . Hi @leon.marchand31 cover star.

When I first shared CR7 BOOTLEGACY in February 2025, I could never have imagined that, a year and a half later, I’d be here talking about my work in L’Équipe (!!!), France’s leading sports newspaper BUT more importantly, the newspaper that has always been sitting on my dad’s living room table.

It was time to pay tribute to the other football legends who shaped my generation. Ronaldo, but also Messi, Neymar, Modrić… There is no beautiful football without great adversity. Adversity is what pushes us to go beyond our limits. Comfort never does. That’s a principle I apply to my own life, and that’s why I believe we should always celebrate our opponents and the great battles they give us. They’re what make us stronger, what make football beautiful, and what create emotions. This is how I wanted to celebrate the 2026 World Cup.

I choose to not overexplain my work on social media, but today I feel incredibly proud and grateful. Thank you to everyone who has followed, supported and worked with me along the way. Family, friends, colleagues, brands, everyone. None of this happens alone. We’re a big équipe
