As we look forward to the final two races of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship, I again thank Pierre Fillon, Frédéric Lequien and their teams for the collaboration over the past months as we negotiated another crucial deal – one that will secure the long-term growth of @fiawec_official . The original agreement between our two organisations to create this championship was for five years. Our extension is for twice that period – it is a clear signal of the strength of our partnership, and the ambition we share to push the FIA WEC to new heights.

🗞️ NEWS: FIA and ACO sign agreement through to 2037 🤝📑 The FIA and ACO have announced a new 10-year deal that will see the two organisations work together to run the FIA World Endurance Championship. After concerns about the delay to the agreement earlier in September provoked discussion over the future of the WEC and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, this new deal will see the series co-operated by the FIA and ACO through the 2037 season. Described as a ‘landmark deal’ the new arrangement will come into effect after the end of the 2027 season, and outlines some key technical and promotion changes to the series. Most notably, “the homologation process has also been streamlined, with the ACO and FIA overseeing the homologation of all cars competing in the Hypercar class,” and interesting note considering the strong and ongoing relationship between the ACO and IMSA that formed the foundation of the LMH/Dh platforms competing with one another. Further the agreement notes “all regulatory processes will be overseen by FIA Working Groups, the FIA Endurance Commission and will require approval by the FIA World Motor Sport Council,” meaning that any changes to the series will need approval through multiple layers of the FIA hierarchy. And on a more promotional basis, the FIA branding will feature more prominently in WEC rounds at at Le Mans - on the safety car, track branding, the podium etc. Long story short, the future of the WEC and the 24 Hours of Le Mans as part of that has been secured from an organisational perspective. Challenges remain over the future of the current top category from 2030 onwards. — ✍️ @timfullbrook 📸 @dppi 🔵 Collecting endurance fans, join the OE community 📲 👥 178,032/200,000 👥 — #onlyendurance #wec #lemans24 #fia #aco

On the eve of the 6th round of the @fiawec_official at @fujispeedway_official, MissionH24 and @toyotaracing.wec announced a new collaboration: the Japanese group will supply the hydrogen combustion engine it is developing for racing to the program spearheaded by the ACO and H24Project. Hydrogen mobility was very much in evidence at Fuji Speedway: while a hydrogen bus accompanied the race cars during the Safari Tour, with Kazuki Nakajima acting as « guide », the fan zone featured a stand dedicated to hydrogen racing, showcasing MissionH24’s H24EVO and the Toyota TR LH2 Racing Prototype. A hydrogen-powered Toyota Crown, a model highly popular in Japan, also took part in the Safari Tour and the pre-race parade lap.
