Published by Kaleidoscope Magazine, MOSHPIT is the first monograph dedicated to the work of Armature Globale. My text arises in connection with MUBI’s first physical movie theatre in Mexico City, dealing with architecture as a non-ornamental sculptural practice.
The title is the result of a structural misinterpretation between communication and surgical recursiveness. Always against and alongside you.

Some views taken during and after the renovation works of my apartment 🔃. It has been a tough adventure, in a year already full of personal uncertainties. Sometimes I joke and laugh about the obsessive behaviours I have had, but I burned too much energy on this project, with the aim to achieve something “cool”. However like often happens, I did my best to make things more complicated and stressful than necessary. Even If I still regret few choices that could have been done in a different or simpliest way, it has been a real growing experience, an important lesson and goal for the future. ARMATURE GLOBALE PR050719 DEUTSCHER WERKBUND SØ STRUCTURAL OPTIMISATION 05.07.19 Exhibition screening 18.00 GMT+2 on http://armature.global ARMATURE GLOBALE, an architecture and urbanism firm, will digitally screen DEUTSCHER WERKBUND SØ on http://armature.global on the 5th of July 2019. Screening from 18.00 PM GRT+2 on http://armature.global until the 9th of September 2019, DEUTSCHER WERKBUND SØ is a reflection on exhibition practices in architecture amid artistic bonding and structural studies. The Exhibition investigates the reference materials, research images and untitled mood boards, that are the sources of architectural firms’ interest and fascination – acting as a foreign counter-balance to the discipline canons and standards. An adjustment to normalcy and easy-access content seen in recent architecture exhibitions, DEUTSCHER WERKBUND SØ stages a selection of the studio’s obsessive interest over a series of digital photographic fragments and building documentation. The outline of the exhibition traces inert waves and serialised techniques currently inhabiting continental Europe. In order to give expression to Armature Globale’s compulsive visual interests, the firm worked alongside artist Niccolò Gravina for a year. The artist shaped a set of images by working on largescale graphite drawings and digital magnification, creating a compulsive yet mediated portrayal of Armature Globale’s spatial obsessions and jpegs references, all material that is usually concealed. On the 05.07.19 DEUTSCHE WERKBUND SØ the physical exhibition will be live streamed – transporting the viewer through a collection of computer generated images, digital elaborations of Landscapes and structural Optimisation studies and drawings. The physical audit of exhibition material will not be open to the public as the firm took a detached approach of a remote screening, the digital visual outcome of the project has been developed with the creative aid of Display.3x

The capsule is accompanied by an in-store installation by @nonphysical_____as and @pietroservalli at the Worksout store in Seoul.

GR10K_MOSHPIT

Architecture today is performed with poor attachment to its actual means of production, a detachment measured in high-end v-ray renderings batched and polished by adjunct creative offices of London, Los Angeles, Hamburg and Milan. An OCD detailing toward a cannibalising sensibleness.

Today large portions of architecture are produced via CAD-CAM clickbait performed by mid-30s young adults in a permanent commuting state, outside of the normalcy and economy of practicing architecture. Fewer and fewer occasions are left for independent studios to perform with any form of potent regime.

The actual means of production of contemporary european architecture are made by the approximately 600,000 European architects populating the continent, sacrificing and spilling immaterial bood.

Emerging offices could not survive without the combined efforts of young adults managing all background operations. GR10K - with the release of Moshpit - celebrates the unrestrained force of these young subjects by portraying the core of Armature Globale as they should be rendered.
