POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

When I say FROSH, you say SOPH! 🗣️ First regatta of the year and nothing could stop us from having a good time, not even the tropical storm brought in by Hurricane Rachel… This regatta was super eventful for us Cal Poly Sailors and it was awesome seeing all our newest sailors brave the busy race course this weekend. Cal Poly placed 1st in the Open Division and 7th in the Frosh Sooh Division. Shoutout to everyone who attended their first ever collegiate regatta and thank you @ucsdsailing for hosting and for getting us these sweet shots on the water! See you all in the Bay this weekend for Stoney Burke 😎

Hi my name is Bennett and I’m a 3rd year BMED major from Dallas, TX. I learned to sail at age 5 at CYC in Coronado, and love how I can help all my teammates learn and grow around me. I’m super excited for the upcoming year and getting back on the water!

My name is Parker, I’ve been sailing for 9 years, I’m from Minnesota where I learned to sail on White Bear Lake. I’m excited for another great year with the team and especially fall PCCs!

Hi, my name is Morgan Headington and I’m excited to be your Practice Coordinator this year! I’ve grown up sailing since I was 7 years old in the San Francisco Bay. Looking forward to all of our practices and regattas this year as my favorite memory was placing 2nd at the PCCSC Open Team Race Champs last year!

My name is Renee and I am a 3rd year city and regional planning major from Long Island, NY. I learned how to sail my freshman year and my favorite memory was telling a joke to another boat and RC telling me I’m not funny. I’m so excited to be back on the water and get to meet all the new sailors and so excited to have another fun year!

Hi! My name is Catalina, and I’m a 3rd-year Chemistry major from Topanga, CA. I’ve sailed for over 6 years and have loved being a part of this team! As Social Chair, I’m excited to have an awesome year of sailing and team events with the best people!!!

Whaddup yall! I’m Sam, and I’m heading into my 3rd year at Cal Poly studying Business Administration, concentrated in Finance. I’m from Bellevue, WA, and I’ve been around the water my whole life, but I learned to sail here at Cal Poly during my first year! Super hyped to get out on the water and make another year of memories!

My name is Lola and I’m a 2nd year Civil Engineering major from Connecticut. This is my 6th year racing and my favorite memory with this team was spending a week during spring break with all my friends I met on the sailing team!

Hi! My name is Mila and I’m a 2nd-year MechE major from San Francisco, CA. I started sailing when I was young, so being able to continue the sport in college has been super special. The team has been one of my favorite exper

I’m currently taking a photography class and our most recent assignment was portraiture. Here are the results. I’m super happy with how they came out and also just the fact that this course is pushing me out of my photographic comfort zone.

A huge thank you to all my models. I couldn’t have done this without you all and how understanding you were as I figured this out.

Enjoy!

Last weekend, us Cal Poly Mustangs hosted our very own Mustang Open in Morro Bay! It was sunny, windy, and we had 14 other teams join us on the water. Shout out to @ucisailing for taking home 1st place and awesome job to our Mustangs for placing 3rd. We’re already looking forward to having everyone back here in SLO for Mustang Team Race in just under a month. In the meantime, let’s cheer on our ‘stangs at Stanford’s Bryson Women’s Fleet Race this weekend!
Special thank you to the Morro Bay Yacht Club members for being our Race Committee and allowing us to use the club as homebase at this beautiful venue.
Also, thank you @elliot_takes_photos @reneeortiz_ and @samanthakatz__ for these epic photos!

Last weekend, our Mustangs headed south for the Jeff Simon Memorial Regatta at Mission Bay Yacht Club in San Diego. We came in 6th overall and were thankful the wind filled in, allowing us to squeeze in two wonderful days of sailing while in sunny SD. It’s always an honor to compete in this regatta. Next up, our very own Mustang Open! We’ll see you in SLO in just under two weeks 🐎 Thank you @reneeortiz_ for these photos!
