“For the Love of Gods” is a plea I wrote about being in so deep that I need every Deity to help me to forget, move on, and heal from a past love.

Growing up as a queer kid at a Catholic school in the Midwest, I remember how powerful it felt to sing at mass—the symbolism of this song was inspired by that experience. This is my hymn to any Divinity that will listen, even the ones I don’t pray to.

For the Love of Gods OUT NOW

“The volume, an illustrated exploration of 64 museums whose names you are unlikely to know, draws on a decade of research and stands as a challenge to all Angelenos who think they have a handle on the local cultural landscape.” — This incredible LA Times feature by @mrcsreynolds on my new book turned out to be more generous and expansive than I could have hoped! 🙏

I’ll be giving the first formal book presentation and signing this Thursday evening at the legendary @philosophical_research_society in their historic and intimate library, and another on Sunday the 17th at @lapubliclibrary with photographer @ryanschude and @tomexploresla — would love to see friends there!

For a link to the full article, details of upcoming events, info on where to buy the book, and an awesome interactive map listing almost 800 museums throughout the region, visit the beautiful companion website designed and built by @piknikpress — everymuseum.la

Greetings, followers new and old. As lovers of small and unique museums, and particularly those who previously implored me to expand this project in the form of a book, you may be interested to know that this new volume, Also On View: Unique and Unexpected Museums of Greater Los Angeles, is out now via the incredible @angelcitypress at @lapubliclibrary !! 🎉

Also On View features the stunning photography of @ryanschude alongside essays exploring the history and context of 64 amazing museums across the region. This labor of love was years in the making and it’s a profound honor to be celebrating its release.

A companion website — everymuseum.la — was built and designed by @piknikpress and features a map that is easy to explore and features ALL of the nearly 800 museums that can be found throughout the greater LA area. The site also includes information about where to purchase the book along with details of upcoming related presentations and signings.

This account was created as a companion to an exhibition at the LA Central Library, and the new book and website are a continuation of those efforts, but there are currently no plans to continue posting here. I hope you will consider picking up a copy of the book and engaging with the website for your next adventures. You can also feel free to contact me directly or follow my personal account @toddlerew — regardless, I remain humbled and grateful for all of your support, and thankful to all who share their stories in the form of a museum. Happy exploring! 🏛️💫

THIRTY, FLIRTY, & THRIVING. 🎂🪄🎉✨ i finally feel like my age matches my soul, like the best version of myself is in the mirror, like the artist I’m meant to be is being revealed. I kinda can’t believe the life I’ve built, the love I’ve found (& created…looking at you Bravo), the career I’m making, and the adventures ahead in the city of my dreams. Little Madison is in awe, and honestly, that’s all that matters.
HUGE thank you for making my surprise birthday dreams come true: to @la_marching_band @pik._.nik @piknikpress @tacer_losangeles @foodandbounty @chefhelencavallo @owlbaaron @gracesagrero @eloiisa_gomez @lilmamamish @hannahbmalone
