It took me a little bit to compile all of this into one post. What an exciting time in Las Vegas we had at the Interior Design Society (IDS) National Conference. Education, networking, collaboration, celebration, team bonding, Bellagio Fountain tour, and so much more! We were honored to be awarded a Designer of the Year award for Best Smart Home in its inaugural year along with Keith Baltimore from the Baltimore Design Group! Pictured here is our President @joecalise with the National Board, IDS staff, and the Conference Committee that put this whole thing together. It is an hoor to serve as National Vice President for this amazing organization. Mix in a little Vegas sightseeing, and of course a hockey game, and it was a well rounded trip! @jcal16 took 2nd place in the @cambriasurfaces Ping Pong Tournament too! Look at that trophy! He was randomly teamed up with Mike from Tampa - another Integrator, and IDS leader. Proof we are stronger when working together! #iloveids Can't wait to see you all again in Boston for IDS Conference 2027!

Still beside ourselves over this tremendous honor.

The Interior Design Society is where we found our people, our community, and our friends. Being recognized by them for our work on The Center and The Gavin J. Goorjian Community Health Center means the world to us.

Giving back to our wonderfully diverse and vibrant downtown community lets us put passion to purpose. We are humbled and deeply grateful.

To the staff at @thecenterlv, you inspire us every day. To our team, thank you for everything you did to make this possible. And to our friends, our family, and our design community: we are stronger because of one another. We only grow when we grow together, and each of you has played a unique part in turning our dreams into reality.

With love and gratitude,
Alex + Freddy

WELL, THAT WAS A NIGHT.

I went into the IDS Designer of the Year Gala already feeling damn lucky to be a finalist... then walked out with THREE AWARDS.

Vacation Rental Design, Utility Spaces and the biggest surprise of the night, the Outstanding Leadership Award.

I’m still taking it all in.

And one of my favorite parts? Kelli made a quick 24-hour trip to Vegas just to help me pick up the award for the closet design we created together. Now THAT is taking your part-time job seriously.

GRATEFUL. PROUD. SLIGHTLY OVERWHELMED.

We won🏆
Designer of the Year, 2026.
The Interior Design Society named us first place for Utility Spaces up to 150 sqft. Laundry rooms, mudrooms, pantries. The rooms that have to work harder than they look. That is the work we love.
Grateful to the clients who trusted us with the unglamorous square footage, and to the team who sweated the details.

DAY 3. STILL GOING STRONG.

More incredible seminars. More takeaways. More time with designers I respect immensely.

And somewhere in between all that learning? A very long lunch overlooking the Bellagio fountains, lots of laughs and some serious designer bonding.

No trip to Vegas is complete without stopping in to see my favorite bartender at Bellagio.

LEARNING. LAUGHING. LONG LUNCHES.
I could get used to this conference life.

Up next... AWARDS GALA NIGHT.

Day 2 at Las Vegas Market proved to be difficult to stay focused on the “work” of sourcing the latest and greatest design finds when you keep running into friends at every turn. This industry is built on relationships, and that fellowship is what makes Market so much fun.

Wrapped the day at the exclusive Designer Soirée, where my friend @mrzothegoat officially paid up on our bet about me writing a book by the end of 2025. Accountability looks good on him!

Market magic = great finds + even better people.

Workin’ day and night at Las Vegas Furniture Winter Market! I spend hours walking the market—researching what pieces will make it into future designs. Touching and feeling fabrics, studying stitching, observing light quality, color combinations and testing the comfort of countless sofas and chairs. My phone is now full of thousands of images that I’ll refer to all year. Each time we do a “sit test” we document it with a thumbs up or thumbs down as a reminder of whether it’s a piece I can be confident recommending. Taking in all the new introductions and revisiting some classics takes a lot of energy. It helps to have a laugh with my peers (especially @designvisionstudio) along the way. We missed you @susymcbridedesign.

Another market in the books, and another opportunity to be grateful for my job.

Thanks @lasvegasmarket
Until next time!

I’m moving on as President of Interior Design Society, and feeling nothing but grateful. These past two years have flown by!

For the conversations, the collaboration, the leadership stretch, and the reminder that this industry is at its best when we support one another.

Onward with fresh perspective, deeper relationships, and a continued commitment of building up the design community. ❤️💙💛🩵
