Some chapters were too heavy to speak on, but Heaven heard every cry. This victory is sacred. This cap is a crown built from prayer, and this gown is a garment stitched with Grace. I’m here because love held me, by the unwavering love of my family and the soulful presence of my friends. Glory to God, I’m a graduate!! Dr. Chelsea Frimpong, DDS

officially #NneomaMD 🥹 graduated medical school on Saturday and I am still in shock. can’t believe I am done with school forever!
All glory, praise, and honor to my God as without Him I would not have made it through this arduous process. For the strength, resilience, determination, and endurance God has given me these past 4 years, I praise Him. Thru the highs and lows, the setbacks, losses, suffering - He allowed me to prevail. I cannot help but to feel extremely humbled by His grace and FAVOR. The immense support from my family and friends leave me absolutely speechless and so grateful for my tribe - without them I am nothing. It truly does take a village and to mine, words cannnot express my gratitude. Thank you❤️
I cannot be more blessed, humbled, and grateful to be called into this field. So excited to see what is in store for my career as a physician!

Ghana 🇬🇭 movement but make it Dentistry.

I remember back in 2015 as a predental student going through LinkedIn, Yelp, ZocDoc, you name it, looking at last names trying to find ANY. ONE. claiming to be African let alone Ghanaian. Luckily on page 6 of @zocdoc I found Dr. Tricia Quartey DMD. I cried. ONE EXISTED.

I didn’t want to be alone, unguided, uninformed like I had already felt trying to figure it out. Thanks to her I got an appetizer of what dentistry could be. Thanks to SMDEP (SHPEP) I got a taste of what dentistry could be. Thanks to UCSF @firstgenucsf / Guardian Scholarship, I have had a meal with what dentistry will be: in community, guided, and knowledgeable.

Thank you @triciaquartey and @ghanadmd for making yourselves available to mentor me and push me to see a new perspective of what this career could mean.

Once again, Ghana fuo 🇬🇭 you can get out of line on my waiting list and join any of those you see above 😂🙏🏾

10 months left! Yenk)))))) 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾

"Dear UCLA SOD Family,

With the end of the school year, I wanted to highlight the accomplishments of your 2023-2024 ASB Cabinet and Student Body. Together, we accomplished the following.

1. Creation of the ASB all school drive with free notes
2. Creation of the ASB constitution and ASB website which clarifies exactly ASB does.
3. Restructured and trained all student leaders to unify the student voice and prevent several NPs
4. Renovation of the student lounge with $6,000 secured outside of ASB dues: 21 new chairs, a new TV and Nintendo switch, a new couch, and several additional microwaves.
5. Cheaper formal tickets compared to last year due to securing a record breaking $30,000 outside of ASB dues (almost x4 than other years).
6. $2000 of materials removed from the dental student kits
7. Left ASB with double the funding than when we first arrived
8. Increased advocacy of SOD at GSA meetings
9. A stronger social media presence and better communications
10. Digitization of club forms
11. Implementation of club auditing, and clear club rules, and creation of several new clubs
12. A significantly more social and culturally rich environment
13. Resurrection of ASB events such as the school Olympics and the ice cream social

And most importantly... lots of fun adventures, knowledge learned, and memories made here at UCLA!

This year we banded together and made strong improvements to student well-being during arguably the toughest time in UCLAs history. It has been astonishing to see the strength our community possess in elevating itself continuously.
Our 2023-2024 ASB cabinet is honored to have served you. We made you promises at the start of our term and I am proud to say we kept them.

My biggest accomplishment of dental school has been mentoring your current ASB President Alexander Tran. Our cabinet leaves you in the capable hands of the next year of incredible student leaders. We all look forward to seeing what they accomplish.

Regards,
Jay Patel
ASB Immediate Past President

P.S. Shoutout to Catherine Johnson for running our amazing social media! Get ready to manage Kay's army of followers."
