ICYMI: Yesterdays ‘Beaches & Bakeries Bounce’ through the Magic City was to epic to let it disappear into my stories so I’m posting a summary of it to my feed. Miami has one of the worlds most vibrant baking scenes due to it’s diversity. These local bakeries showcase a world of flavors including…

Cachitos at Caracas Bakery (1) - The Venezuelan snack by way of Portugal is a dangerously delicious brioche like bread stuffed with ham and cheese. 🇻🇪

Croquetas at Arahi’s Bakery (2) - Every Cuban in Miami has a favorite spot to grab this popular snack from Spain by way of France. I’ve never had a bad one. 🇨🇺

Brisket Croissant at Flour & Weirdoughs (3) - An extra fluffy French croissant stuffed with Montreal smoked meat? C'est délicieux! 🇫🇷-🇨🇦

Empanadas (and Alfajores) at Sur Miami (4) - They call these some of the best empanadas in town and they’re not fucking around. 🇦🇷

Slice of Sourdough Pizza at paradis books & bread (5) - This wine shop doubles as a bookstore and bakes up what might be Miami’s best pizza. It has a sourdough component going for it with that being their specialty. 🇮🇹

Pavlova at Piononos (6) - This local bakery is ran by a beloved Peruvian baker who’s known for her Pavlova among other things. Perfection indeed. 🇵🇪

Pastel de Nata at Majestic Portuguese Bakehouse (7) - You’ll find this globally popular pastry anywhere that the Portuguese have settled and that includes the 305. 🇵🇹

Pate at Family Bakery (8) - This family owned Haitian bakery pumps out what are said to be Miami’s best Pates which is what they call puff pastries in Haiti. Oops I forgot to snap a pic of these delicious savory pastries. 🇭🇹

Beef Patty at My Patty Place (9) - Jamaica’s favorite fast food is also a favorite of South Florida and myself. 🇯🇲

Key Lime Pie at Fireman Derek’s Bake Shop (10) - The Key West original is found all over South Florida but they’re not all equal. Only some spots make them from scratch. This would be one of those spots. 🇺🇸

I’m always asked where to live in Miami...
My answer is Key Biscayne if you like resort style living, charming restaurants, shops and living close to the beach!
