As a young girl, @allist.john knew she wanted to wrestle competitively. Now, she blazes a new trail as @iowastateu first-ever women’s wrestling coach.

Examples 1 & 2 in a long series about how the threat of a stepout or stall call creates action.

If YOUR wrestlers don’t know anything from an over/under and therefore would only use it to push people out that’s cool. But it’s insane to assume that applies to everyone.

Also, even if a wrestler is simply pushing into their opponent with a 50/50 then they’re at least engaging in wrestling. If it takes no skill to do that then why are they only on the receiving end of it? It’s kind of crazy that we would excuse their opponent from needing to know how to either score from there, simply clear it, or, at the bare minimum, stand their ground. How does that attitude create better wrestling?

Fowler falls just short of a medal, dropping a tight contest Elmira Yasmin in the bronze medal match.
