There’s a lot that goes into a Bon Dog that you probably never see.

The materials.
The people who make them.
What happens to them when you’re finished.
What your order arrives in.
And what happens to the bits left over along the way.

I try to make better choices wherever I can — from sustainably and ethically produced clothing that can come back to me to be recycled, to Christmas toys made from recycled materials, recyclable and biodegradable packaging, reusing packaging, and finding ways to turn things that might otherwise be waste into something useful.

I’m not perfect. And I’m certainly not going to pretend that every single thing I use is magically saving the planet.

But if there’s a better option available, I’ll usually try to find it.

Because at Bon Dog, it’s not just about making something that looks good.

It’s about making something you’ll love, use and keep — and thinking about what happens to it along the way.

And I suppose there’s another reason I care about it.

This is their world too.

The dogs we spend our lives loving don’t get to choose what we leave behind.

So if I can make a few better choices along the way — choices that mean a little less waste, a little more reuse, and a little more thought about where things come from and where they end up — then that’s worth doing.

Not because Bon Dog is going to save the planet.

But because I’d quite like there to be a wonderful world left for the dogs.

Happppy Fur Friday - @allaboutdogsshow edition!

The one thing I Love about these dog shows is that you make friends for life!

We have been attending for the past 4 years and its just been so overwhelming on the friendships I have made.

Bloss - I met last year and we found out that we only live around the corner from each other, we regularly meet up and go for a pupuccino date.

Wren - We offer meet up at the shows and spend the day together, we do also meet up outside of the shows when we have gatherings or pawtys

Angus - the lady's man, we see him at EVERY show without fail, his mum and nan are honestly the sweetest people ever!

Nala - Again we always bump into these lovely guys at the dog shows and have a good natter together ❤️

Then the new friends we made and swaped stickers with.

Honestly this community is PAWTASTIC!

Sometimes we get the shot we planned… and sometimes your dog has completely different ideas

But that’s the reality of photographing dogs.
We work with them, not against them. We use their favourite treats, toys, plenty of patience and sometimes that perfect moment ONLY last 3 seconds!

On my sessions, they don’t need to sit perfectly. They don’t need an amazing “stay”. And they definitely don’t need to behave like a professional model.

What I can guarantee is that you won’t ever walk away disappointed. ❤️

Just so you know… my dog probably won’t sit still.

I hear some version of this ALL the time before a photoshoot. 😁

They won’t sit still.
They can’t go off lead…

And genuinely? None of those things are a problem.

Your dog doesn’t need to arrive knowing exactly where to sit, stay perfectly still or stare into my camera.

We can walk. We can play. We can take breaks. We can keep them on lead. We can give them space. And if they decide they have absolutely no interest in looking at me that day… we work with that too. 😊

I’m not looking for your dog to be the perfectly behaved version of themselves for an hour.

I want the silly expressions. The excitement. The little quirks. The way they look at you. The things that make you say, “Yep… that is SO them.”

Because one day, those are the things you’ll want to remember. 🤎
So if you’ve been putting off booking a photoshoot because you’re convinced your dog would be “too difficult to photograph”…
I promise, you don’t need to wait for them to be perfect.

COME EXACTLY AS YOU ARE! ❤️

And if this sounds like the kind of photoshoot you’d want for your dog, my messages are always open.
