In the sea of primordial sound, only a few choose to sail aided merely by the primitive tools that gave birth to the style that houses them. Piracy is staunchly among such, forfeiting the spectacle of machines and seeking pleasure in only the raw. A crew of three voices, the daggers of dancing guitars, the oceanic depth of obstinate bass, and drums of cannon fire and clinking cutlass alike are the only colors they consider.

Catch post-punk outfit @piracyweb at the @free4allstl kick-off party going down at @thekey_stl on Friday, November 6. Then come out the next day on Saturday, November 7 for an all-day music marathon happening from noon to midnight throughout the @grandcenterartsdistrict 🎶 This free, all-ages event is a walkable concert crawl brought to you with support from @kranzbergarts and the St. Louis music community.

PIRACY [at] Red Herring
2026.08.23

Fabulous mathy rock from St Louis, PIRACY rides the waves of meter and melody, with a crew of three vocalists and a percussionist with an arsenal of extra sounds beyond the basic kit.

Seriously had so much fun seeing this group perform. Never knew which way their songs were gonna go, but they absolutely know how to draw out rhythmic suspense and pay it off! So good. 🤘🏴‍☠️

The Venezuela Earthquake Relief Benefit Show is officially wrapped, and South City St Louis was able to raise $1712 for the Ayudandito foundation (@ayudanditoo ). The donation will be used to continue helping communities that were victims to the doublet earthquakes that hit my home country of Venezuela on the past 24th of June by surveying the needs of each community and encampment and providing them with direct aid specific to their needs. I will link the gofundme for Ayudandito on my bio for anyone who wants to donate individually and for further reference on how the money will be used.

I am extremely grateful towards everyone who attended the show, everyone who donated despite not being able to attend, the people over at Off Broadway (@offbroadwaystl ) for hosting and supporting this effort every step of the way, my wonderful bandmates in my acoustic ensemble and in Piracy (@piracyweb ), as well as Goo Man (@_goo.man_ ), Dour (@dour_sound ) and Little Big Bangs (@littlebigbangs ) for agreeing to play and bringing the absolute heat in each set of the night, my dear friend Chase (@largemommy ) for designing a gorgeous flyer for the event (as well as Dour for making such beautiful prints of it), and every single person who supported or helped in any way. This would not have been possible without you.

A very special thanks also to my dear friend Diego Vega Mata (@vega_mata ) for founding Ayudandito and all the work he’s done through them. I’ve seen him out helping almost every single day and talking to hundreds of victims of the catastrophe to make sure he can provide help at the most human level and in the most appropriate way possible. He’s giving voices to people who are in dire need and the work he’s doing is nothing short of admirable. Te amo hermano, estoy orgullosísimo de ti.

I feel honored to be Venezuelan, I feel honored to be in St Louis. I am incredibly proud of the community that surrounds me and so moved by the willingness of my people in this home to help my people in my first home. I’ve got nothing but love and appreciation for all of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. 🇻🇪
