Mount Dora Locals is officially a year old, and somehow I’ve managed to go an entire year without properly introducing myself. Now is as good of a time as ever, right? 🤭👋🏼🥂

I’m Justine, the face behind @mountdoralocals!

Now, here’s the funny part. I’m not actually a Mount Dora native. I’m a transplant! But somewhere along the way, this little town became home. Between the friendships, familiar faces, and people who’ve welcomed me with open arms, I’ve never felt like much of an outsider! There’s something pretty special about a community that makes you feel like you belong.

And that’s part of what inspired MDL in the first place.

Believe it or not, this whole thing started with the OGs on none other than @richardqueso couch back in September 2025. No master plan (or maybe 🔮), just a few friends and a little bit of “let’s see where this goes.”

And well, here we are!

What started as sharing live music, local hangouts, and the occasional shenanigans has grown into a community of locals, small businesses, service industry folks, musicians, and visitors who all share a love for this town.

And while the page has grown, the heart of it hasn’t changed. MDL is about supporting local, making connections, and celebrating the people and places that give @mountdora its character. A little local love, a little nightlife, and whatever else we get ourselves into along the way.

As for me? You’ll probably catch me around town, enjoying some live music, supporting a local spot, or slinging some beers behind the bar at @thenestatpapilio. If you see me, come say hi! I promise I’m friendly. 😉

To everyone who’s been here since day one, thank you! And to all our new faces, welcome!

You decided to have flower men instead of flower girls… and they completely stole the show. 😂🌸

I don’t think there was a single person who wasn’t laughing as they made their way down the aisle tossing petals with absolutely zero restraint. They understood the assignment and gave it 110%.

One of my favorite things about weddings is when couples make the day their own. Flower men, an ice cream truck, private vows, or anything else that feels like you. Those personal touches are usually the things everyone remembers most.

So yes… consider this your sign to have flower men at your wedding. 😂
