Collaboration is key - a key takeaway from our September #TeesBusinessLIVE at the Middlesbrough Empire, in partnership with new Middlesbrough sports bar Pitch!

We chatted to Sharon Braithwaite of Barclays Eagle Labs, Neeraj Sharma of Daisy Chain, Matthew Clarke of Sanderson Weatherall and Francesca Kosina of Outrank after our latest monthly networking event.

Just been to a really interesting discussion about the future of the high street.

The message I took away was pretty simple, it’s not necessarily the death of the high street, it’s the death of the old high street.

Retail on its own isn’t enough anymore. It’s about bringing retail, food, leisure, hospitality and the night-time economy together and giving people a reason to come into town, not just somewhere to buy something.

Really enjoyed the event and came away with plenty to think about. And, importantly, feeling a lot more positive about the future of our high streets.
Thank You to @tees.businessmag for putting on such a great event at @middlesbroughempireofficial . Really enjoyed being in the company of @lucypittawayart @grahamsoult Jo from @pitchmiddlesbrough (thanks for the 10% voucher)

Read all about how, with support from Middlesbrough Council's Creative Places programme, we've been able to extend and build on the WE SHALL BE murals along Wilson Street underneath the A66. Check out the Gazette article in our linktree.

We're really pleased with the new series of artworks created by artists Nick Blaney and Nic Golightly - informed by the heritage and communities of Middlesbrough.
