There’s more room to grow when you’re willing to explore beyond what’s familiar.

Yesterday, I traveled to Louisville, KY (my home before Cincinnati) for a creator matchmaking event hosted by @pitchpleaseapp & I’m so thankful to have been invited into a room full of new faces, new connections, and potential opportunities!

I love the community I’ve built in Cincinnati, and as a Kentucky girl born and raised, getting to spend time in Louisville was a reminder that there’s so much more I want to explore, experience, and build.

But let’s talk about something we don’t always say out loud as creators: “What’s in it for me?”

Not in a selfish way, but in an intentional way. Our time, energy, creativity, and resources are valuable. Every opportunity doesn’t have to be a yes, and every event isn’t automatically the right fit. Sometimes, you have to ask yourself if the opportunity aligns with where you’re going, what you’re building, and the goals you’ve set for yourself.

For me, this was about more than just attending an event. It was about expanding my network, building meaningful relationships, and giving myself the chance to grow beyond.

I want to keep saying yes to rooms that challenge me, opportunities that align with my vision, and experiences that remind me there’s so much more out there to explore. And I’m grateful to the people and organizations who think of me and create spaces for connections like these. 🫶🏾

Here’s to growing with intention, making meaningful connections, and being willing to go where the opportunities are. 🥂

Had the best time at the Made To Match event right here in Louisville, Kentucky! 💛

My good friend @jenrides_bikes runs @pitchpleaseapp, a platform that helps creators connect with brands. So naturally, she hosted a real-life matchmaking event! Each of us was paired with three brands to pitch ourselves, and it led to some truly fantastic conversations.

Connecting with people and building my network locally has been a big focus for me this year, and events like this make it so much fun.

What better way to spend a Tuesday than with some of our region’s top content creators and influencers!?

Let’s pause for a sec because in case you didn’t know by now, I am a full-time content creator & social media manager – I started @luminarycollectivelou last year to work with businesses to develop authentic content for their social media & help grow their online community.

For the past year, I’ve been quietly working on something completely different from what you’ve seen in the past.

I’m incredibly excited to announce SYMI , my personal styling app, that recently won the 5 Across pitch competition hosted by Awesome, Inc. I’m excited to compete in the finals in December.

The win was especially meaningful because this isn’t just another fashion tech idea it’s the culmination of 25 years of experience, trial and error and developing processes and techniques that work. By integrating new technology innovations I can make personalized styling accessible to everyone in a completely different way.

I developed SYMI to become your go to style bestie by helping you understand your personal style, maximizing your clothing and eliminating closet waste. Your style should evolve as your life evolves.

Right now, we’re in private beta, testing and refining SYMI with our early users as we prepare for our public launch.
