The term “Akhara” (also spelled Akhada) is rooted in Indian culture and refers to several different concepts, primarily in the context of physical training, religion, and spirituality.

An Akhara refers to a traditional wrestling gym or school where wrestlers, called pehlwans, train. These places follow ancient practices of Indian wrestling (Kushti) and emphasize physical strength, discipline, and skill development. The training includes grappling, body conditioning, and dietary practices, often rooted in ancient traditions.

During my recent trip to Varanasi with @srirammallik.m , @idioteye , @akhil_jayadeep , and @pixelaro_ , I was fortunate to capture the daily routine of wrestlers at one such Akhara in Kashi.

Varanasi, a vibe that only the people who can connect with this place either spiritually or mentally would feel. The energy of this place is unmatchable and the peace of mind one can get from this place is incredible.

A quick 3 days trip with @mahemac @pixelaro_ @akhil_jayadeep @idioteye though wasn't as successful as we thought but gave quite a lot of memories to remember for a long time. I can never say that I'm done visiting this place but would certainly plan to visit again in the nearest future.

HOOD ANTHEM | MUSIC VIDEO 🎥

Fisheye, slow zooms, fast zooms & crane driving shots. Got to play around with different kind of shots and setups for this video. Creating our own GTA like world in this video, turned out great and absolutely love the 90’s retro vibe.
