The Lightning Thief (The Percy Jackson Musical), I owe you so much. I haven’t performed on a theatrical stage in over six years and what a show to return to. anyone who knows me know just how much greek mythology and percy jackson means to me and it was so much fun to bring it to life. i was worried day one about making friends in this cast and what a silly concern that was, i have met some of the most talented, hilarious, and overall amazing hardworking people through this show and i would be nothing less than honored to work with them again.

a particular special thank you to the tech team for making every single prop and costume piece used in this show, and pulling off nothing short of miracles behind the scenes.

cast, i adore each and every one of you to the degree i would ramble on endlessly so just know you are all fantastic, stunning performers and i want to support you all in whatever other endeavors you are up to 💕⚡️💀

Selina Beauregard, i will miss you❤️‍🩹 thank you for the confidence you have given me 🕊️

Since my sophomore year of high school, Clarisse La Rue has been such a dream role and the thought of designing this show has always been on my bucket list. The fact I got to do both in the same production is truly insane. I would like to thank my amazing tech team, cast, fight coordinators (JJ, Carson, and Noah Perryman), our third party volunteers who came out to assist with set painting (Gabi Guisbert, Fran, Calista Whitecotton, Brooks Nuzum and his mom), Ashley Peters, all the members of our first ever media preview, ADI Foundation INC., Metrocon, Books-A-Million Leesburg, Lake County Public Schools and Libraries, and audience members (like you!). Shout out to Emaliya, for being at nearly every performance we put on. Emaliya found out about our production on our opening night and showed up to almost every show after. Going from being in the audience to assisting with throwing confetti, being pulled onstage, and being given a backstage tour during our last performance, Emaliya has shown her support for the arts and we appreciate her here at Camp Half-Blood!

Huge thank you to the @baystreetplayers and The State Theatere for an invite to the final dress rehearsal and media night for their production of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical.

This musical is so incredibly fun! The Bay Street Players kicked it into high gear for community theater and the result was outstanding. The cast is incredibly talented and they fostered a chemistry on stage that showed throughout the show. They genuinely had a great time performing. The main stars Percy, Annabeth, and Grover are natural performers. Their voices are beautiful and the acting is great. I have to admit though, Grover stole the entire show. The amount of times I laughed during this production was not expected and I loved it! I am also a huge fan of Mr. D! The quips and overall attitude was portrayed perfectly for that character.

My only critiques are that the cast were overpowered by the musical track and I had a difficult time hearing them singing. Since this was dress rehearsal, I’m hopeful this has been remedied! It is also so hot in the theater. Be prepared and bring a fan!

This was my first experience at this theater and won’t be my last. Any friends local to central Florida, please see this show. I love it and can’t wait to see it again before the end of the run.

Check out The Lightning Thief for the remainder of the run March 19 through March 29.

Thanks to our partnership with Audio Description Initiative, we will be able to provide an audio described performance of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical on March 27th.

Audio description allows individuals who are blind or who have low vision to enjoy the performing arts. Our audio described performances will use a headset connected to a receiver where patrons will be able to listen to a professional audio describer provide live descriptions of all the visual elements of our productions. Examples of these elements would be set design, costumes, stage blocking, and more.

Call the box office at 352.357.7777 for more information.

Bay Street Players will be one of the first in Lake County to provide this service and are grateful for the privilege to be able to continue to serve the community in this way through the generosity of others. Thank you for your support and we can’t wait to see you there!
