Caught a world record… and threw it back like an idiot.

We were jigging for walleye in some current, fishing for lunch, when I caught a 28-inch Shorthead Redhorse on a @pklures ridge rattlr. Knew it was a big sucker, so we snapped a quick picture and released it.

About 10 minutes later, we got back and decided to look up how big these things actually get. Turns out, my fish beat the existing record.

And the best part is that, I HAD THE IGFA RECORD BOARD IN THE BOAT WITH ME.

Nothing better than spending the day on the water! The day after turning 43 and celebrating with a little fishing therapy and a BIG catch! Nothing beats a day outdoors doing what you love! #fallfishing #walleyenation

We had an incredible time at @gsmarinaoutfitters for Wes David's @fishing_the_wild_west_tv_show_ annual Industry Gathering!

Moments so special connecting with partners and friends @hookedmagazine @pklures @fishhuntsask many more while building excitement for the 2027 Manitoba Sport & Outdoor Show.

And the highlight? Catching HUGE cod from shore at sunrise on Last Mountain Lake. A bucket-list experience we'll never forget! 🎣

We're feeling inspired and can't wait for March 5-7, 2027 in Winnipeg! 🙌

Thanks to Wes and the G&S team for an unforgettable weekend and congratulations G&S on 35 years!

Jumbo perch are a lot of fun to catch, but can also be a bit of a challenge to find. They are one of the most fun and most beautiful warm water fish! Oh, and they are delicious! 😋

Caught on my @tbcustomrods rod and @pklures jigging spoons.

Yellow perch have always been a favorite of mine. When I was a little kid, I would spend hours trying to catch them to have a fish fry with the family. There was nothing better than catching “jumbo” sized perch like we did today. It was so much fun! Thanks to @pklures for the awesome spoons that caught today’s fish. The PK spoon and rattle spoon worked amazingly well.

With this heat I have been finding active feeding walleye in 20-24 feet of water bottom-bouncing @pklures along sharp drop offs into deeper water. Good luck to everyone fishing this weekend.

Three years ago I made a promise to myself to take more time to fish with family & friends. During the past week I fished with some amazing family & friends!

2026 ND Governors Cup. Ryan and Chad finished in 22nd place with a solid comeback on day 2. Scott and Logan didn't weigh their fish in. The last picture pretty much sums up their entire tournament.
