Day 12 Richmond, VA happens to be roughly the halfway point from Baltimore, MD to Carrboro, NC and it's decided that's where we will spend the day there. Stop 1 - Vinyl Conflict Larry, Laurent, and I venture off to check out records shops with the most awesome Vinyl Conflict being the first. The metal and hardcore-centric store has a solid LP and 7" collection with rarities special editions lining the walls, some CDs, tees, books, and a bit of other memorabilia. Stop 2 - GWAR Bar The divebar is decorated with all sorts of stage props, retired pieces of costumes, random artifacts, and everything GWAR related. Stop 3 - Deep Groove Records The cozy shop, reminiscent of a teenager's room with just about every inch of wall covered in posters, is known for their curated selections, knowledgeable staff, and fair prices. Stop 4 - Plan 9 Since 1981, P9 Music has become an institution of a shop. Not only do they offer a huge selection of new and used vinyl, they also host in-store performances and offer consignment for local area artists/bands. Stop 5 - Can Can Brasserie Constructed to mimic a Paris restaurant circa 1900, decorated with dark woods, fancy tiles, and several mirrors, Can Can specializes in traditionally inspired French food and drink, with an in-house, full-service bakery and pastry kitchen. It was quite a lovely and delicious dinner. Thanks for the bread! Stop 6 - The Jasper Laurent, Trevor, and myself opted for a nightcap while the rhythm section and Charlie went to the hotel. The Jasper, where they had cocktails in a pill bottle and the TVs streamed kittens playing, was a fun spot. -- The legendary riff lords will join their neighbors RUSSIAN CIRCLES once again, this time for an East Coast run as the trio supports their ninth album, 'Nine,' - out now via Sargent House. PELICAN released an EP earlier this year, 'Ascending,' stemming from last year's full length, 'Flickering Resonance' - both available thorough Run For Cover Records. The band is performing new songs and select cuts from earlier albums. @pelicansong @russiancircles @runforcover @sargenthouse @groovedeep @plan9music @vinylconflict @gwarbarrva @cancanbrasserie

STP 1️⃣9️⃣9️⃣2️⃣ Debut Built a Solid Core of Alt Rock in the Early Grunge Movement! When the #StoneTemplePilots 1️⃣st blew Up on the Scene, Critics Criticized them for Allegedly Copying the Musical Style of other Alternative Acts, Particularly Pearl Jam. The Name #Core Comes from Adam & Eve in the Bible. Further Represented on the Album Cover, which Depicts Eve Stealing an Apple from the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden. Scott Weiland, who was a Fan of the STP Motor Oil Stickers Since his Youth, gave the Band some Ideas for a Name. Core is the Debut Studio Album by the American Rock Band Stone Temple Pilots, Released by Atlantic Records on 2️⃣9️⃣ September 1️⃣9️⃣9️⃣2️⃣ 3️⃣4️⃣ Years Ago 3️⃣4️⃣th Anniversary.
