Has anyone been to Big Bear (L35) lately?

My wife @pamjeanne and I used to go all the time; one of our favorite places to visit. Hadn’t been in a year or so. Was shocked to see that not only are they building a new terminal, but it will be open in the next couple of months! If only they’d invest that kind of money in our home airport @whitemanairport.

Hope there will still be a restaurant…

New Sedona Airport photo!

This isn’t really in my wheelhouse, but I learned something new about the airport. The center of the mesa is considered an “energy vortex” and is one of four located in the area. This particular one is said to produce energy that boosts “focus and clarity.” In the 1980s, the location of the vortex had to be relocated to a nearby red rock outcropping due to New Age visitors congregating on the runway and causing a hazard.

Always love visiting, and I stop at @mesa_grill_sedona for lunch every time.

I didn’t have any plans to photograph this airport; discovered it while flying home from Lake Tahoe, and thought it looked pretty cool with the way it’s built into the reservoir. Here’s Bryant Field Airport, or O57, located in Mono County, California, about 60 miles to the southeast of Lake Tahoe. Surrounded by the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains, this airport features one runway measuring 3854 x 60ft at an elevation of 6464ft. Jutting out into the Bridgeport Reservoir, this airfield covers 49 acres and offers no services aside from parking.
