what's your interpretation of failure? per definition, it is the lack of success. not reaching a goal set by yourself or by others. but what does that even mean? who decides whether something went wrong or is maybe just a new version of the story? ✨️🌌

two weeks ago, i set myself the goal to do the #coronallacs trail in andorra. ⛰️ a very difficult five day hike for experienced hikers, the description said. five days, with only 92 km (easy 🦣), but an elevation of around 6.500 m (not so easy 😂). long story short, per definition, i failed and had to change the trail route on day three. i was forced to leave the mountains due to an upcoming thunderstorm and honestly being exhausted from the heat and climbing. the decision to leave the trail was very hard for me, and i was filled with disappointment, tears, and anger and compared myself to other hikers on the route who were faster and fitter than me. i tried to keep up, but almost never had a minute to enjoy nature and its beauty during the hike.🏞

and then i thought, what's the message i am actually facing here? listening to my body, realistically estimating my energy and power to face another mountain peak with a thunderstorm waiting for me on the way, is not a failure. it is a very wise move. making hard decisions while being alone in the mountains, finally taking my time, slowing down by changing the route, enjoying nature, learning more about navigation with trail maps, but also gps. being in the moment and being able to be alone with my thoughts and emotions while being responsible for all my decisions and their consequences was a very powerful feeling. i may have not conquered the trail in the way it was planned, but i was proud about the fact that i was brave enough that i at least tried. also, i met the most beautiful people with happy hearts on my hike and was able to share laughter and make wonderful memories with them. 🃏💛

success comes in different ways, and I think it is most important to enjoy the ride no matter what the result is. so go out there, be brave, try and have fun while doing it. ✨️🌄

Ruta invernal ❄️ exigente hacia la majestuosa La Munia. Nos quedamos a tan solo 150 m de la cima, frenados con respeto por las cornisas y el estado de la nieve.⚠️
Pero no todo está en alcanzar la cumbre: el verdadero regalo fue el camino compartido con un grupo maravilloso, lleno de risas, fuerza y complicidad.⛰️✨💪🏻😍

“No hicimos cima, pero hicimos equipo. Y con personas así, cada paso deja huella.” 👣 ♥️
