There’s something extra special about getting to photograph the younger sibling of a past senior. 🫶

I photographed Jack’s older sister, Dalaney, a few years ago, so getting the chance to have this family back in front of my camera - this time for Jack’s senior year - was pretty special. (And, side note: Can time please slow down just a bit? The 3 years between Dalaney & Jack’s senior year FLEW by.)

Jack has this quiet, cool thing about him. He’s not trying too hard. He’s not looking for the spotlight. He just has this calm, understated presence that photographs SO well and the more we shot, the more of it came through.

Apparently, though, every photographer in Pittsburgh had also decided that Hartwood Acres was the place to be that night 😂. After an August that seemed determined to give us rain at every possible opportunity, we finally had one of those rare beautiful evenings - and I’m pretty sure there were literally 30 photographers there taking advantage of it.

Add in a few leftovers from a weekend wedding - including one very glamorous giant blue tarp that will absolutely NOT be making its gallery debut 🙄 - and we had to get a little creative.

But honestly? I kind of love that.

Because even with all of that happening around us, we found our pockets. We found the light. We found the angles. And most importantly, Jack showed up.

Quiet. Cool. Relaxed. A little editorial. And completely him.

Jack, I can’t wait for you to see the rest. For now, here’s your sneak.

SENIOR: Jack James, @marsareasd

Thanks of course to our wonderful sponsors: @paraccainteriors @karskispokaneortho @cornholegolf @rhoads_orthodontics @dentedkeg_mars

You gotta love a kid with this level of passion and understanding. Josh is one of my favorites and I am not alone in that. I appreciate having some small contribution in his growth as a player and the person. We all wish him the best of success in the future and I have no doubt that you will find it.
