Every school year, hundreds of Ottawa classrooms are given access to hands-on learning through the Classroom Gardens program. To celebrate the hard work of teachers and their students, we host an annual photo contest encouraging classrooms to share their Classroom Gardens harvests and healthy meals and snacks made from what they have grown. The photos demonstrate the core learnings from the program, show the students engaging with their gardens, and celebrate food literacy. The top three photos win a $100 Gift Card to Canadian Tire! Six years ago, we opened a restaurant in the middle of a pandemic.

We started from a takeout window after Tucker’s Marketplace shut down. We ripped out dirty carpet, painted walls, and reused old tables and chairs to survive. We built our first patio and carried it into storage by hand every season. We cleaned oil spills ourselves and paid more parking tickets than we’d like to admit.

In 2022, we moved our entire kitchen across the street to 313 Dalhousie.
If you think moving a house is hard, try moving a restaurant and a full commercial kitchen.

We ran four ghost-kitchen brands doing six figures per month, were featured in the Ottawa Citizen, appeared multiple times on CBC for authentic Vietnamese iced coffee, and on CTV Morning Live to demonstrate agri-tech innovation. We represented ByWard Market business owners during the trucker protest, opened Banh Mi Bro’s, and helped other businesses find their locations.

Today, we’re recognized as a local Halal Vietnamese destination and humbled to be named @consumerchoiceaward – #1 Best Vietnamese Restaurant in Ottawa, for the second year in a row.

And we’re not done yet.
A big project is coming this month.
