Side pathway with huge impact. Ultra wide steppers with dichondras that will eventually cover the surface in green. Complimented with a tree line of Ficus that will eventually form a lush screening along the fence line. Very luxe 👌

Backyard transformation. Adding a lot of luxe and warmth to this space. When the plants are more established in 12-24 months, this garden will go up another level 🔥

A serene backdrop of green, captured while playing with Yuki today. 🌳

So many new plants have found their way into the garden… some stayed, and a few quietly left.

I read something the other day that really stayed with me: plants treat a garden like a motel. If they love it, they stay. If they don’t, it’s not your fault — that’s just life. 💚

I found that thought so profound and comforting. It made sense of why, even with so much care, love, and hospitality, some plants don’t make it, while others thrive and surprise you. 🌿 What do you think? Xx

Thanks to @plantsforlovemelbourne for helping me choose these pretty Magnolia Trees for my backyard. Today is a wet day but decided to still plant them in pots. #magnoliatree #littlehousejournal #magnolia #fyp #plantsofmelbourne

Backyard Glow-Up Progress! 🌳✨🌳

I’m digging, planting, and experimenting every day to turn our backyard into a structured but at the same time naturalistic green oasis one plant at a time!🪴

What I’ve learnt so far…
- hardy plants like Lomandra, olive trees, and shrubs thrive together
- Rosemary is my friend!🪴
- layering textures and colors is key!
- mass planting the same plant again and again creates rhythm and cohesion

It’s messy, fun, and totally a work in progress—but that’s the magic of DIY landscaping.🌳
