This past weekend I had the opportunity to photograph the @awdscanada booth at the Living Luxe Design Show.

This came with a set of challenges. The venue's overhead fluorescent lighting is just awful for photography. We were also racing against time to capture all the images before people started arriving at the booth.

It was important to come prepared but also to be able to make quick decisions on the fly. For this set of photos I relied on my strobe light through a soft layer of diffusion to do all the heavy lifting. This allows the light to fall off into rich shadows adding depth and a touch of drama to the image.

Being intentional with the quality and direction of light is paramount when capturing interiors. I felt this style of lighting was the right decision for this beautiful English-inspired kitchen.
