Mooch, from Montreal QC

“Kin” released June 20, 2025

Originally $39.99 - On sale for $29.99

Psychedelic Prog | Desert Rock | Heavy Rock

FFO: 1000 Mods, Kyuss, Fu Manchu

“KIN is the fourth full-length from Montreal prog/rock/psych/metal trio MOOCH. The solar eclipse on the cover art portends a dark celestial journey. But KIN eschews the grimness I’ve come to expect with Black Throne releases.
KIN opens with not one, but two instrumentals. Ambient space-probe-esque “YR4” gives way to the crushing power of “Meteor”. “Sunburner” is exactly what it sounds like and will find a warm place in heavy-metal hearts.
I was taken off-guard by “Hang Me Out (False Sun)” by how tuneful it is. It’s a simple post-betrayal clapback with a huge chorus and one of my favourite songs of the year.
“Prominence” and “Lightning Rod” are extended prog-pieces. The former passes like an uneasy omen or premonition. The latter the opposite.
Closer “Zenith” acts as a bookend to the opening instrumentals, closing KIN out just as it began.
Fans of prog rock and psych should add KIN to their holiday wishlists immediately.” Plastic and Wax

House Made Co. landed in the latest issue of Absolute Underground 📖

There’s a full little feature in there with an interview by Jonathon from Plastic & Wax, plus a fresh print ad holding it down for small-run records coming out of London.

If you’re curious what we’ve been building with the lathe, embossing on polycarbonate, or where this whole thing is headed next, it’s all in there.

Copies are at the Diver now, and I’ll be dropping stacks around town over the next bit. Grab one if you see it 👀

Always cool to see local DIY record work show up in print.

zBTFD x PRFM BRANTFORD

Let's CONTINUE talking about the amazing vendors joining us on Sept 6th!!

Unfortunately, Talisman Workshop is no longer able to vend at ZFAM, but we wish them the best and hope to see them soon :)

Check out these amazing vendors, get even more stoked, and come support local makers on the 6th!

Meeps Vinyl - Portable record shop and rare vinyl dealer. (It's Tim!!)

Zine Fiends - Zine Fiends is a London-based zine club and distro. Zines are a type of print media that are self-published. They are an important piece of DIY history. Zine Fiends was created with the purpose of teaching people how to make zines, and building a supportive community where people can share their work.

ID - Ian Darfler (or Spud to pretty much everyone) makes 3D printed stuff (housewares, jewellery, knickknacks, keychains, etc.) and vinyl cut bumper stickers and decals!
Influence comes from a longtime love of 80's/90's punk rock, 90's gross-out cartoons, Garbage pail kids and Mad magazine.

Kindness Project - A charitable organization that aims to relieve poverty & food insecurity in Brantford. Since their 1st event in December 2024, they've been sharing delicious food & thrifted items with the community!

Cartridge Heart - An independent label based out of Toronto. Established in 2017 as a home for The Mendozaz, the operation has expanded over the years to include other rock/punk/metal and adjacent acts.
Cartridge Heart is the primary sponsor and publisher of Plastic and Wax: a quarterly music zine dedicated to boosting regional artists.

Give them all a like and a follow, please & thanks everyone!
