Hey hey! It's #WorldOceansDay 🌎
Here are 20 ways you can be a part of the solution for ocean pollution:
1. Avoid products made with styrofoam, microfibers and microbeads
2. Save food in containers--avoid all plastic wrap & ziploc bags
3. Be aware of how your food is packaged. Avoid plastic where possible. Many canned foods are lined with BPA plastic. Get your coconut oil, nut butters & sauces in glass jars, and you will have plenty of reusable containers! 😁
4. Bring reusable shopping bags--not just grocery
5. Quit using plastic straws
6. Eat in rather than take-out
7. Shop bulk, avoid individually wrapped items
8. Buy produce from the farmers market, as many grocery stores package so much of their fruits & veggies in plastic bags, nets, cling wrap, containers, etc.
9. Make most meals at home with organic & plant-based whole food
10. If it needs to be disposable, it MUST be compostable
11. Bring your own to-go coffee/tea mug, juice/smoothie cup, food containers, utensils, etc. (or keep them in your car and at work)
12. Quit plastic water bottle consumption, and ALWAYS carry a reusable water bottle
13. If you do end up with any kind of plastic bags, consider them washable & reusable. (You never have to buy plastic bags these days, they're everywhere!)
14. Women can use a menstrual cup, cloth moon pads / panties instead of tampons & disposable pads
15. When traveling, fill reusable small-sized travel bottles instead of buying travel-sized products. Avoid using hotel single-use vanity items such as toothbrush, comb, shampoo, etc.
16. When recycling juice and milk cartons, remove the plastic screw-on cap from cartons and put into the recycle bin rather than trash it
17. Use compostable bags to pick up after your pet
18. When shipping items, opt for paper & cardboard rather than plastic bags & bubble wrap
19. Vote with your dollar. Support brands who dedicate themselves to the cause and boycott corporations who do more harm than good. Practice conscious consumerism!
20. Make your voice heard! Tell your friends and family about your commitments to prevent #plasticpollution. Make changes in your workplace and your community. ✌️
🌊 Together we CAN make a difference! 💞

Plastic bags enter the ocean from all over the world. Many species of marine animals confuse it for food—eat it and are killed. This bag in particular has confused the ever-romantic moon jelly. Please refuse plastic bags and use paper or even better—bring your own bag. (If you don't have any reusable shopping bags, I know of some that are available for purchase—link in bio.)
