$Now that the 2024 season has come to a close, we’d like to take the time to celebrate our age-outs and newest alumni of the @meancyms. First up is our two-year member and section leader from the 2024 season, @smllcym. After a cymbal career spanning 7 ensembles and nearly 11 years, we feel lucky that Beth chose to spend her final season marching with the @gmuindoordrumline. Beth’s long-lasting love for cymbals is inspiring, and she has been an integral part of the cymbal community as a performer, teacher, and fan. She has helped to take charge of so many logistics behind the scenes at GMU, and she undoubtedly helped keep the train running for the past two years. In the middle of the 2024 season, Beth developed a stress fracture in her foot. Despite the difficult challenges that come with injury, she fought through the pain and made it to the end of the season. Join us in congratulating Beth on a great age-out season. “When I needed it most, the GMUCL gave me a home. They gave me back my confidence and reminded me what’s important: the people marching right next to you. I couldn’t be happier to be included in the amazing legacy of cymbal people that is the GMUCL. We can’t always choose our family, but I will always #choosemason.”$
