40 SEASONS OF @candancecompetition .🇨🇦❤️🖤

What a week✨✨

A massive congratulations to @lisatpoland , @dannyjpoland , and @debbie_noce on celebrating 40 incredible seasons of Candance—creating opportunities, inspiring generations, and continuing to champion Canadian dancers and artists beyond our borders. The heart behind this event is unmatched, and the production value is second to none! ✨✨🎉

I’m so grateful to have been part of this milestone week at Nationals, adjudicating, teaching Film industry workshops, and connecting with so many passionate artists.

And getting to share it all with an amazing team— @sdkanten , @quishawitha_q , @andrew_mikhaiel , Joe, and @princekyrzyk . You made the week even better. ❤️

To every dancer who took the stage this week: thank you for sharing your artistry, your passion, and your heart. The future of Canadian dance is bright.

Here’s to 40 amazing years of Candance…and to everything still to come. 🇨🇦✨

🚨 ATTENTION BEAT CHASERS: 🚨

YOUR BIGGEST COMPETITION IS THE DANCER YOU WERE YESTERDAY. 🎧

At BPM Dance Experience, we’re redefining what a competition experience should be. ❤️

We’re creating a weekend where dancers leave with more than awards—they leave with life skills, industry knowledge, lifelong friendships, unforgettable memories, and an experience that stays with them long after the music ends. ✨

Because competition should teach you:
⏰ Time management & discipline
🤝 Teamwork and lifting up the people beside you
🎯 Goal setting and celebrating progress
🎭 Performance confidence that carries into the real world
🫶 Building connections within your dance community
🌱 Learning that not every performance will go your way… and that’s okay. That’s where resilience is built.

And through it all, we hope every dancer remembers this…

💗 Dance is healing.
🎶 Dance is release.
✨ Dance is expression.
🏡 Dance is a place where you can truly be yourself.

As Canadian artists 🇨🇦, we believe competition should be about growing together, supporting one another, and creating experiences that inspire the next generation—not just for one weekend, but for a lifetime.

Because the greatest thing you take home isn’t a trophy… 🏆

It’s the experience. ❤️

More HEART. More HYPE. More BPM! 🎧⚡

WHAT’S YOUR BPM?🎧⚡️

At BPM Dance Experience, BPM stands for Beats Per Minute.

But it also stands for something bigger.

We are a hybrid dance competition and convention created to celebrate dancers, spark creativity, and share knowledge with the next generation of artists.

At BPM, we’re opening the floor to conversations about music, rhythm, artistry, and performance.

Because dance is more than categories and score sheets.

It’s about connection.🎧
It’s about interpretation.🙌
It’s about understanding the music and discovering what it inspires you to do.✨

Ask yourself:

Have you ever truly danced to what the music was telling you to do?

Not what the choreography said.
Not what the rules said.
Not what was expected.

Just you and the beat.

We believe great dancers don’t just hear the music—they feel it, understand it, and bring it to life.

Because every dancer has their own rhythm.

Every artist has their own voice.

What’s your BPM?

A new city.
A new chapter.
A few leaps of faith.
And a whole lot of gratitude.

This year looks a little different. Trading familiar streets for the energy of Toronto, embracing change, chasing big dreams, and trusting that some of the best adventures still lie ahead.

Living my best at 48 in this concrete jungle.
Here’s to growth, courage, reinvention, and saying yes to what’s next.🥂🍾

WHY WE’RE DIFFERENT // 03 ⚡️🎧🇨🇦

Ever wished you could ask a talent agent what they’re actually looking for?

At BPM, you can.🙌

Introducing Industry Chat & Talent Agent Q&A — an opportunity for dancers and parents to hear directly from industry professionals working in movement, film, commercial, voice-over, motion capture, and professional dance companies.

✨ Learn what talent agents and industry professionals are truly looking for
✨ Gain insight into the submission, audition, and representation process
✨ Explore opportunities within professional dance companies as both dancers and choreographers
✨ Discover what helps artists stand out in a competitive industry
✨ Ask questions and receive honest, professional guidance
✨ Better understand the realities of building a sustainable career in the arts
✨ Learn how Canadian performers can thrive, train, and build careers right here in their own backyards

Because navigating the industry shouldn’t feel like guessing.

At BPM, we’re creating opportunities for dancers and families to gain clarity, build confidence, and better understand the many pathways available within the performing arts. We believe Canadian artists deserve access to industry knowledge and opportunities without always having to look beyond our borders.

More HEART. More HYPE. More BPM!

BPM Dance Experience, we’re changing the conversation✨

We believe dancers are more than a category on a registration form.🙌

Professional artists aren’t built inside a box. They’re versatile, adaptable, and remembered for their artistry, performance quality, and ability to make people feel something.

That’s why we’ve reimagined the traditional competition structure.

Rather than focusing solely on labels, we’ve designed our categories around the way dance is experienced — through energy, tempo, and pulse.

⚡️Slow Tempo
⚡️Fast Tempo
⚡️Pitch It Up
⚡️Classical Mix
⚡️Classic Remix
⚡️The Breakdown
⚡️Pure Vibes
⚡️Turntable Vibes
⚡️Culture Connection
🎧Artistry Over Everything

We also believe that creative freedom comes with responsibility. We encourage dancers to honour the history and cultural significance of the movement they explore, approaching each style with curiosity, respect, and appreciation.

At the same time, we want dancers to feel the beat, embrace the passion, trust their instincts, and discover their authentic artistic voice.

Because artistry isn’t about checking a box.

It’s about storytelling.
It’s about musicality.
It’s about connection.
It’s about passion.

Welcome to The Art of BPM⚡️🎧

More HEART. More HYPE. More BPM!
